By Bob from Lower Michigan on 11/10/2009 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Versatile, Warm Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out, Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I like the long sleeve length and the high neck functionally, though they aren't as aesthetically pleasing as short ones. I wear this jacket in wind and rain often, and it does the job. Further, it is highly, almost unbelievably, durable. I wiped out on my mountain bike on asphalt while wearing this jacket over a few more layers. My arm and back were well abraded, but the jacket sustained no damage. I was very impressed.
Good looking put not practical. By ivp from new york, ny on 11/10/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Lightweight Cons: Not Enough Pockets, Not Warm, Not waterproof enough Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: While it is a good-looking and comfortable jacket and is fairly cheap, it also performs cheap. I have traveled in it and went hiking/camping a number of times.
First of all, this jacket is cold, only slightly warmer than a thin wind-breaker. The tightness adjusters around the bottom edge are rather weak and let go of the cord as you walk, and let cold air in.
Yes it is waterproof to some extent, but during hard rain it starts absorbing water quickly, which does not necessarily get you wet, but later on dries for a LONG time (4-5 hours).
There are only two pockets.
It fits very well, maybe too well, since putting my campmor fleece underneath makes it somewhat uncomfortable.
I would not recommend buying it if you are looking for functionality, rather than a trendy looking mild-weather jacket, and getting a combo of a fleece and a hurricane parka. Would cost you $10-$15 dollars more, but would be more functional and versatile, with more pockets.

Looks great, well made, fits great. Should do wonders to keep the cold off.
By Michael from Dublin, CA on 09/19/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Warm Best Uses: Bad Weather, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I just got the jacket so I have not used it "in the field" but the jacket seems very warm and very well made. I got it to keep me warm and dry so it should work great. It should be a nice jacket for biking. Nice sleeve and length for that. It fits well. I ordered a large 1st but exchanged it for a medium. I had lost weight and the large seemed to big for me now. I also ordered the Bark color 1st but I like the blue color from the 2nd order better. I am very pleased with the jacket and how easy it was to exchange. I'm new to Sierra Trading Post but they certainly did a Great job.
By Fencepost from SW Washington on 09/11/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: After having owned this jacket for a year, I am very impressed with the durability of it. I wear it nearly every day and it still looks like new. Mine is black; dirt & dust clean off easily, usually a brushing is all that is needed. It's good for moderate temperatures, between 45 and 70 degrees. It's a little too thin for colder days unless you are active. My previous review complained that the sleeves seemed long; I've gotten used to them and kind of like them. But I have longer than average arms anyway, so most people will likely find them too long.
By DWW from Lewistown, Montana on 08/11/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a light weight warm jacket, good for wearing over other fleece, packs nicely in daypack, a good back-up jacket for the $'s.
unique article of clothing By Bonko from Connecticut on 07/14/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Skiing/Snowboarding, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A unique article of clothing that sets me apart from the Abercrombie and Fitch clones. It is stylish, form fitting for those that are not overweight or bulky. It is modish in appearance and makes one look "finished" and not a sloppy teenager.
STP carries some unique stuff and I hope they continue
By Boat Girl from Pueblo, CO on 07/05/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Waterproof Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Wore this jacket in a rain/hail storm today. After the storm I took it off and my t-shirt was still nice and very dry while the rest of me was soaked, when I bought it I had my doubts on its ability to keep the water off. Great jacket, love the hood.
