By RomanRode1 from Atlanta on 03/17/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile Cons: Need to adapt to stretchy Best Uses: Going Out, Outdoor Activities, Super on cold rainy days, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Trim fitting - can be tight on big men (like me!)
Excellent in cold, rainy conditions. 3 solid days of rain tested it from Day #1. Outstanding. NO moisture penetration. Light weight, but durable. THIS is one outstanding jacket!
Love the feel of this jacket. By PLUM from Himrod, NY on 03/15/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Lightweight, Versatile, Well Made Best Uses: Biking, Daily Use, Going Out, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this jacket to wear biking. I have not worn it yet for biking, but wear it almost every day walking the dog. It is stylish and looks good enough for travel. Nice to have one travel coat for both rainy and cold weather. Water proofing is good, breathability is fine. Hood is snug over a bike helmet, but fine for normal use. Nice neck closure to keep wind out and good pockets.
Also a good layer for very cold weather.
By Alaskan Chick from Interior Alaska on 03/12/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Bad Weather, Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good luck finding a better value. This soft-shell is flattering and high quality. It has quickly become my favorite. Four seasons worth of use, just put a warm fleece underneath and it will carry you through the bitterest cold. At the same time it is light enough to throw in a backpack for cool summer nights. It's also stylish enough to be a travel staple. Most waterproof softshells retail in the $150-200 range. Even the other Sierra Trading Post options are pricier. I can't say enough good things about it.
By skijor girl from Palmer, Alaska on 03/10/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good for active winter sports. Order one size up.
I gave this jacket to my boyfriend! By stephaniep from Seattle, WA on 03/09/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Lots Of Pockets, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Extreme Conditions, Sports, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Conditioning Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased this jacket in a size L and it was enormous on me! Not just the wrong size, but I felt like I tried on a men's jacket because the shoulder area was so huge. I am average weight, athletic, with an hourglass figure and based on the specs thought the L would be perfect. Definately not. The style is great, the fabric is great, but it is a boxy cut for sure. I didn't even want to order the M becuase the cut is so square that I would have been swimming in that one, too, it would have just been shorter. I ended up exchanging this jacket for an XL and gave it to my boyfriend who said it fits perfectly!
GREAT JACKET FOR THE PRICE! By OUTDOORSPORTFANATIC from PENNSYLVANIA on 03/02/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out, Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I BOUGHT THIS JACKET MAINLY FOR BACKPACKING IN SPRING AND FALL, BUT DECIDED THAT I REALLY LIKED THE STYLE , AND WEAR IT DAILY NOW. THE ONLY DOWNFALL I CAN FIND IS THAT ITS A LITTLE LIGHT FOR THE COLDER DAYS (30 AND UNDER),BUT THAT CAN BE REMEDIED BY LAYERING WITH A ZIP UP FLEECE UNDERNEATH.

great jacket, long in arms By vbcoach from hebron, ky on 02/24/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Sports Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love the long arms (usually everything is too short). jacket is a little noisy (just not used to that); but great fit & comfy
By TN Jeepster from Tennessee on 02/23/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Lightweight, Well Made Cons: Fabric is a little noisy Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got this jacket to wear on those cool 'in-between' days when a heavy jacket is too much and a simple windbreaker isn't enough. I was looking for a simple, well-constructed, light-weight jacket that would keep me warm without adding a lot of bulk - and this jacket is just right to meet my needs. (I mostly use it for daily walks through the neighborhood and gardening chores.) It's a little bit bigger than I would have wanted but only because I had to order 'Small' instead of my normal 'X-Small'.
I find the 'swishing' sound of the sturdy fabric to be a little bit annoying but I think that is to be expected with any wind/water resistant material.
So far, I am very pleased with this jacket. It is definitely a bargain for a light-weight quality jacket!
By Salty Dog from TX on 02/12/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Warm Cons: Could be a bit warmer Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Seems to be well made. YKK zippers, neoprene fitted cuffs to keep the water out, no velcro. This will be great for fly fishing. The cuffs keep water from running down your casting arm, and there aren't any tabs to catch your fly line.
