very nice jacket with great hood By wutrain from The great state of OHIO on 02/09/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket rocks! it has a great slim cut to it, fits nice, Love the hood. It also looks very stylish. I bought it because of the price and after getting it, I know I got a great deal. It will keep the rain out, but not sure about the cold, having worn it in Ohio with temps in the 0-10 degree range, it was better to layer it with something else. Love the hood, hard to find a soft shell with a hood. All in all I would recommend it!!
By steph from Seattle, WA on 02/08/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Lots Of Pockets, Nice quality, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Sports, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I loved everything about this jacket style-wise (great quality and lines, weight, function, appearance), but it appears to be a standard men's fit! It was very wide in the shoulders and very boxy throughout. I am average weight with an hour-glass build and I felt that it is clearly NOT designed with a woman's body in mind. I didn't even want to try a smaller size because the main issue is the cut of the jacket.
By Mike from Grand Rapids, MI on 02/07/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Stylish Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I like this jacket, especially the style and color (artichoke) but the opening to the napoleon pocket is too small for my hand to easily fit into and the fabric is a little stiff. I am comparing to my old Sierra Designs soft shell which served me admirably for 2.5 winters. It is still a good buy for the money.
By STP Fan from Durham, NC on 02/05/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Warm Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very warm and wind resistant for it's bulk. Haven't tried it in rain but it seems like it would shed water well.
Good performance for the price By Outdoor Family from Duluth, MN on 02/04/2009 Pros: Good Cut, Lightweight, Low price, Versatile Best Uses: Layering, Nordic Skiing, Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Unusual fabric feels like neoprene, but is not bulky. Light fleece liner adds warmth. Blocks wind and moisture. I use it mostly as a mid weight layer in colder weather.
By bray1720 from Delta Junction, AK on 02/04/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Warm, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Haven't really had a chance to test on a hike, as it is still below zero, but it is comfortable and suprisingly warm for how thin it is. Lining is soft. With a fleece, I was comfortable at 0*F. Haven't worn in rain yet, but ran water over it in sink, and water beaded up and ran off. Couldn't even force water through it!
By Ebeth from Camp Hill, PA on 02/02/2009 Pros: Breathable, Buy larger size, Lightweight, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Kids sports games Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great shell, no lining. If you intend to wear a sweater or something heavy under it at all buy the larger size.
By Jacket from Washington on 02/02/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Good Weight, Lots Of Pockets, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Sports, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Frequent Exerciser Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love this jacket, it is a perfect mid-range weight. I'd recommend ordering small - I'm usually a medium, but had to get a small.
By Jimmymac from Spokane WA on 02/02/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Cut Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I haven't really worn this jacket yet - the weather needs to warm up. However, this is the jacket "weight" that I was looking for. It is more of a tailored look. I always order a "L" but was warned by other folks that this may be too small. It's not - but there isn't room to wear bulky clothes underneath. It's not your "run-of-the-mill" jacket and that's what I like about it.
By J from VA on 01/24/2009 Pros: Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great softshell jacket, it fit swell on me with a fabric that feels great to the touch. For the price, it is definitely a great deal. However, when moving around I did notice that the jacket felt a little stiff, but it doesn't bother me that much.
