Timberland

Timberland

It all started in 1918 when Nathan Schwarz began his boot-making career as an apprentice stitcher in Boston, Massachusetts. After mastering the trade, he ventured out and bought the Abington Shoe Company and together with his sons, began manufacturing shoes for major retailers. Everything changed in 1973 when the Schwarz family introduced injection molding technology to the industry and produced one of the first truly waterproof boots, named the Timberland. The boot was so popular that the company reinvented itself as The Timberland Company. A wide range of casual and performance shoes, boots, and sandals - as well as luggage and apparel - came next and solidified Timberland’s place at the top of the market. Timberland has also always believed in giving back to the community and environment, making them one of the most socially responsible companies around. Timberland will no doubt continue serving the marketplace and the world in which it thrives, by offering innovative products and proactive solutions.

Very nice shoes. Comfortable right out of the box. And they look pretty nice, too. I wore them to a trade show in Vegas, and didn't get any dirty looks.

Comments:
I live in in a moderate climate as the low temps in the winter may dip into the 20s but normally stay above freezing. I purchased the sweater to compliment my motorcycle winter riding gear as another layer depending on riding temperatures. Although I have not worn it in a test yet, I anticipate it to do very well. Thanks for providing a garment with such great value.

Comments:
Of all the cold weather clothing I have recently ordered, this one is probably the most versatile. I ordered a bit on the large side in order to be able to fit a couple shirts underneath when necessary. I mostly intend to wear this for colder indoor temperatures (which seems to occur sometimes at home since I'm trying not to save on the electric bill, and also may happen at work due to faulty climate control there), but also for cooler outdoor temperatures. The great things about this vest are that it has a good amount of insulation throughout, has adequate baffling to keep the down in place, seems to have much more down than feathers, has a hood for added versatility in keeping warm, has flush pockets, has a hang-loop, has good wind protection, and offers good freedom of movement. I normally wear a size 6 these days and am rather small-chested, but large-hipped. For my purposes, the M fits great. I would imagine that a S would also fit me, but then it may be a bit tighter everywhere especially when wearing thicker clothing underneath. The down seems to expand to fill the extra space just fine when wearing thinner layers.

Comments:
Normally I have numerous pair of jeans which are acceptable. This pair is not one of those... this pair is that one pair that comes around every 8 or so years that just fits great. I wish the distressed look on the left leg wasn't so large, that is my only complaint other than that, excellent.
