Because of the fleece lining, the coat is light but warm. Wear it alone on spring/fall days, and over a sweater it's perfect as a winter coat.

By Joe from Indianapolis, IN on 11/14/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Casual Wear, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Love Barbour, this jacket being no exception. Plenty of pockets (I appreciate the mid-chest hand warmer pockets), fits good...the reverse collar and inside of the jacket has a nice green plaid.
The color is pretty striking, so if you're looking for muted, this ain't it, but is the same shade as the bright North Face & Cloudveil fleeces out there, so it's not abnormal.
I'm 5'8, 165, wear about 40S jacket, and a Medium fits nice.
Thanks, STP.
By tough shoper from Boston ma on 11/14/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm a label snob, so, even though I have 2 quilted jackets already, I bought this for the price and color. It's a really nice quality of fabric and construction and the fit is wonderful (take the advice in the catalogue about sizing). It's advertised as being 'water resistant'- I found it in the raincoat area- but I doubt it will be. Haven't tried it yet.
By VA girl from Springfield, VA on 11/14/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Lightweight, Well Made Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice coat, but it's even bigger than was expected. I would order 2 sizes down because the coat is fuller around the chest and waist than expected. If you plan to layer sweaters or other warmer clothes under it, then 1 size smaller.
