By Chuck from Los Alamos, NM on 08/05/2009 Cons: Heel delaminated, Metal insert not threaded Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I could not use this product because the heels were delaminating from the body of shoe before I ever used them. Had to send them back.
Excellent foot protection By Wyoman from Colorado Springs, CO on 07/21/2009 Best Uses: Everyday riding Describe Yourself: Competitive Cyclist Sizing: Feels half size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The closure system failed after one year's use. It is not as reliable as a traditional ratched buckle system. However, this is not a major concern because a traditional buckle can replace the wheel system. The best part of this shoe is the excellent toe protection when ridding among rocks.
By Rand from Kaysville, Utah on 07/01/2009 Pros: Too uncomfortable to walk Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The sizing chart says that 47=size 13 1/2-14size US and other information on your site says 47=14 US. I am returning them. I went to a bike store for a new purchase and the Euro size for me is 50 and I am 14 US

Cool shoes, decent fit and sharp looking By MGTRIMAN from MD on 06/17/2009 Best Uses: Climbing, Everyday riding, Long-distance riding, Sprinting Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Got the them in the Yellow/Red combo, but what it didn't say was that one shoe is yellow and the other one red... Very stiff, and well ventilated. Do not fit as well as my Sidi, but so far very happy
By Bikie Bill from Virginia Beach, VA on 06/15/2009 Pros: Durable Sole, Well Ventilated Best Uses: Commuter shoes, Everyday riding, Long-distance riding Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good looking and extremely well ventilated. As per other posters, it's best to use the Eoropean sizing chart rather than the American sizing chart.
By French Bulldog from Hamden Ct on 06/10/2009 Best Uses: Everyday riding Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My experience with Northwave shoes has always been positive. That's why I have 4 different pairs.Granted the Red/Yellow Aerators aren't for everybody but the Aerator shoes are some of the best out there and I would know since I have 11 other pairs of shoes to wear. For me it's all about simplicity the shoe must fit, look great, and be reasonably priced. Any high end shoe will have a stiff sole but you have to wait for the outrageous prices to come down. That's where companies like Sierra Trading Post come in. Thank you
Good For Bad Weather And Value By whitemeet from Boston, MA on 05/25/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Conforming, Durable Sole, Good for Walking, Weatherproof Best Uses: Cold wet cycling Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Entry is OK and the tie inner closure takes some practice but overall a nice shoe for bad weather. Don't expect extreme cold capability, there is little insulation. I recommend buying a 1/2 size larger to accommodate heavier socks if you want to go below freezing temps. Surprisingly waterproof and excellent stiff sole but walkable.
Well Made, But Difficult to Figure Size By Bill from Richmond, VA on 04/04/2009 Best Uses: Everyday riding, Long-distance riding Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels full size too small Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I placed different orders for two styles of Northwave Cycling Road Shoes. I am returning both pairs due to the size being too small. I normally wear a size 45. (USA sizing 10.5). I followed the Northwave sizing chart, which is different from some other companies and ordered size 43 or USA size 10.5. The shoes were too small. I reordered the Northwave Revenge Road Cycling Shoe, because the other style that I had originally ordered was not available in a larger size. This time I followed the sizing chart, but ordered size 44 or USA size 11. The shoes are still a little too short. The width does seem to be comparable to a size D width. My suggestion for anyone ordering Northwave cycling road shoes is to go one size up from the chart listed with the shoes.
By Voyageur from West chester, PA on 04/03/2009 Best Uses: Everyday riding, Long-distance riding Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great shoes. The yellow and black are in fact red, yellow and black, like the Race shoes in other reviews, but without the ratcheting closure.
