almost want to lay the bike down By dave, just dave from Iron Mountian, Mi on 08/10/2009 Pros: Abrasion Resistant, Tough Best Uses: Long Rides, Street Riding Motorsports: Motorcycle Enthusiast Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Apears like it came out of a mad max movie.
This is a well put together jacket. I like all the features. Vents, belt and straps to make it a custom fit. I like it.
By Bainbridge Bull from Bainbridge Island, WA on 07/22/2009 Pros: Cool, Stylish, Tough Cons: Tiny Waist, Uncomfortable Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I ignored some of the reviews about the thin waist because I'm a small guy. I'm 5'9" 157 pounds with a slim 32" waist. I ordered a Medium and could barely zip it on. I would have considered moving up to a XL but the shoulders on the Medium were already huge.
This is an AWESOME jacket in the WRONG SHAPE. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this to anyone, unless they have a very unusually narrow waist and huge shoulders.
The quality is top notch. I ordered and LOVE the other Hein Gericke jacket I got.
Classic Example of Sierra Quality By Bainbridge Bull from Bainbridge Island, WA on 07/22/2009 Pros: Abrasion Resistant, Comfortable, Stylish, Tough Best Uses: Long Rides, Poor Weather, Protection, Street Riding Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This jacket is very cool. I think it looks way better in person than in the pictures. All the riders I know around here (Bainbridge Island, WA) either have glitzy Joe Speed Racer style jackets, or boring rain jackets.
This has the performance of the foul weather gear with very cool, subtle styling. I would only make two improvements.
1 - A bigger reflective component in the arms, shoulder, and back; There's a small pipe, but I'd like to see a 1" stripe or patches of reflective material along the arm, on the shoulder or across the back.
2 - Bigger, better venting. It's a hot jacket for anything over 75 degrees. Fortunately, around here, that's not common.
By tucker tuck from dayton , oh on 07/22/2009 Pros: Abrasion Resistant, Comfortable, Tough Best Uses: Long Rides, Protection, Street Riding Motorsports: Motorcycle Enthusiast Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I like the jacket , the only thing for me is that the arms are to long for my size. Fits good across the chest though
Stylish design and good fit By Hair from Denver, CO on 07/21/2009 Pros: Abrasion Resistant, Comfortable, Lightweight, Stylish, Tough Best Uses: Long Rides, Protection, Street Riding Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered this Jacket because of it's style, I am not one for wearing leather or anything bulky. I ride a Vespa scooter, so I wanted something to protect me on rides. I actually put this jacket to the test recently while riding as a passenger, we had a minor crash and I walked away with no injuries (just a few scrapes and bruises). I had one scrape on my elbow but it would have been 10 times worse had I not been wearing the jacket.
By Puget Sound Sailor from Seattle, WA on 07/17/2009 Pros: Abrasion Resistant, Comfortable, Stylish, Well constructed Best Uses: Long Rides, Poor Weather, Protection, Street Riding Motorsports: Year round commuter Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The jacket is extremely well made, I am most impressed with the quality. The jacket feels just a tad small. It would be a tight fit if I put on an extra layer for winter riding. Much much better than my current Kilimanjaro jacket, at more than half the price. Thanks Sierra!
Perfect for the colorado mountains By EPRider from Colorado on 07/13/2009 Pros: Abrasion Resistant, Breathable, Comfortable, Lightweight, Stylish, Tough Best Uses: Long Rides, Poor Weather, Protection, Street Riding Motorsports: Casual Rider, Motorcycle Enthusiast Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: feels great, waterproof, good pockets.
By snowman from Alaska on 07/04/2009 Pros: Stylish, Tough, Well Made Cons: Made to fit stick figure Best Uses: Long Rides, Poor Weather Motorsports: Casual Rider, Motorcycle Enthusiast Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Way too small, If you're an XL this will NOT fit you.
I am an XL and even the 2XL was way too small.
It fit like a large,at best.
Very nice jacket though. Just order 3 sizes up.
Excellent all weather jacket By waldo from San Leandro on 06/20/2009 Pros: Abrasion Resistant, Breathable, Comfortable, Tough Motorsports: Casual Rider, Motorcycle Enthusiast Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: great armor. Best designed for street bikes: the vents are better for front-down riding positions. Good length and the zippers and snaps are very solid. Also, the liner is very well designed: It attaches at multiple points that prevent it from shifting or bunching.
I like it!
