By BCski from Bristol Hills on 03/18/2008 Pros: 800 fill down, Hem adjustment pulls, Lightweight, Warm Cons: Armpits tight in L, Sleeves long in XL Best Uses: Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Packing down for backup Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: If in the middle size up, the large was tight around my armpits, the XLs sleeves are a bit long.
Great down for the money
By Bio teacher from Pilot Mountain, NC on 03/17/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy to set up, Lightweight, Waterproof Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice lightweight tent for those who want a bit more than a tarp. I prefer the bug protection this tent offers. This tent has adequate ventilation and a quick set up. Great product for the money. I plan to use it on the AT this summer.
By mag from Monterey, CA on 03/16/2008 Pros: Lightweight, Versatile Effective Best Uses: Backpacking, Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Stashed-away warmth, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The shirt is extremely lightweight, but really works. I rode horseback yesterday afternoon for three hours. Max temp was 58, winds were 25 knots with gusts up to 35. I wore the wind shirt and the Golite 44150 top and was completely comfortable. I tried unzipping the neck of the wind shirt to see how cold I SHOULD be, and the difference was immediate--much colder!
I normally wear a size 12 top and felt the women's large was too small for layering, so I'm exchanging up.
It's small enough to stow in your saddle bags, bike pannier, glove compartment, or purse.I bought one for my daughter to use on campus.
Note that the colors for the Golite products seem cattywampus. The wild berry I ordered couldn't possibly look more graphish. And some of the Golite products are showing "absinthe" as blue. It's a greenish mustard, actually. And celadon is light blue.
By Rundetrail from Lincoln, NE on 03/15/2008 Pros: Lightweight, Washes Easily Best Uses: Camping, Casual Wear, Hiking, Running, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels too small Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very nice windshirt, but size up unless you prefer a close fit. Due to the lightweight material, I doubt the shirt would stand much abuse, but for windy, cooler weather, it would work well over another top.

It is surprisingly warm and rain resistant and only 2 oz
By Jeannie from Telluride, CO on 03/12/2008 Pros: Durable, Easy to Pack, Good Padding, Strong Zippers Cons: Not Enough Compartments Best Uses: Backpacking, Short Travel, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I really like the pack. The only issue I have is that the newer probes are too long for the front gear pocket. Other than that, it's wonderful!!
By cyclonejack from central Iowa on 03/12/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Plenty of storage, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Lack of hood adjustments Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Extreme Conditions, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Light weight soft shell with a light fleece inside, it's not a lining but all one making it light and warm. 2 pockets on the inside for goggles, gloves, hat, etc... I purchased the blue and the color is killer. The pit zips although welded work easily with two way pulls. The sleeve pocket is built for MP3 players like my iPod classic, it has a separate mesh pocket with velcro to secure the iPod and a opening to the inside of the jacket for the ear buds, great idea and it works very well leaving no outside openings for water to get in.
Like I said it's my new favorite.

I love this jacket and Golite By Cyclonejack from Iowa on 03/10/2008 Pros: Breathable, Durable, Lightweight, Nice amount of storage, Warm, Waterproof Cons: Lack of hood adjustments Best Uses: Casual Wear, Cold Weather, Hiking and Camping, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The previous review attacks the sleeve pocket as useless, the truth is it's for a MP3 player with the earplug wire goes through a opening leading to the inside of the coat, pretty cool. I love the durability of Golite products and this coat is no exception. They manage to give you the best features along with wind protection, waterproof and still keep the whole package so light and comfortable. The hood works for me but really could use more adjustments at least a couple of toggles to hold the cords tight. The color is excellent. I love the jacket. Good from the 50's down to the 20's with a extra layer.
By Spongebob from Seattle on 03/09/2008 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very light and well built, but short on comfort. A great day/travel pack, but not build to carry any serious weight.
