Walking the dog on ice is an adventure in itself. Yaktrax make it possible to stay horizontal and walk the dog. Always have a spare pair and I give them as presents.
By karsmitty2[@] from Pennsylvania on 11/13/2009 Pros: Easy To Put On And Adjust, Great Grip, Lightweight Best Uses: Heavy Snow, Mixed Routes Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased these for our petsitter who also has a job delivering flowers for a local florist. I thought they would be nice for her in both of her professions. We live near Lake Erie and get quite a bit of snow. The snow gets packed down and can easily become quite slippery or even turn to ice. I think these will help her maintain her footing this winter & I'm planning to give them to her for Christmas.

By Mountain House from Allenspark, Colorado on 11/13/2009 Pros: Great Grip, Lightweight Best Uses: icy trails, Mixed Routes, Snow packed trails Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Size small fits a woman's light weight size 7 1/2 Sorel boot. Size medium fits a woman's heavy duty size 8 Sorel boot. Since I'm in my 70s, I find it easiest to put the Trax on while the boot is off! I have a set of the Pro with a velcro instep strap, and a set of the lightweight without a strap. I just include a set of straps with the lightweight ones, for extra security.
By Sourdough 1933 from Cheney, WA on 11/12/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Put On And Adjust, Great Grip Best Uses: Heavy Snow, Mixed Routes, Vertical Ice Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is the second pair of Yak Trakers and if they perform as good as the first pair I know that I'll be safe on ice. I live on a slight incline and my driveway can get quite icey, but I never had any trouble with slipping or sliding last year. I would highly recommend them to everyone.
