Haglofs

Haglofs

Despite Haglöfs now being the largest supplier of outdoor equipment in Scandinavia, the company had humble beginnings. In 1914, Viktor Haglöf hand-stitched the company’s first backpacks and began selling them from his bicycle in Torsang, Sweden. In addition to functional outdoor gear like backpacks, tents and sleeping bags, Haglöfs is a leading supplier of technical performance clothing like softshell pants, Polartec® fleece shirts and Windstopper® jackets. Every product Haglöfs offers, from waterproof Gore-Tex® clothing and outerwear to insulated down vests and jackets, is created with an environmentally responsible attitude and a keen attention to detail. Get a Sierra Trading Post deal on Haglöfs gear, and find out why Haglöfs has been a leader in the outdoor clothing and gear arena in northern Europe for decades.

Comments:
I purchased this jacket over the other, more well known brands because of the features it advertised: zip-off hood, deep pockets. I am happy with that and was also surprised at how soft and non-crinkly the fabric was. It is also most substantial than I expected (have previously only purchased rain shells), but it is nice for being in New England, since I can wear only that over a t-shirt. So far, it's completely waterproof, although I haven't had the "opportunity" to stand outside for several hours in a steady rain, which was way I bought it. The only significant issue I forsee with this jacket is no pit zips.

Love this super soft fleece in a lovely dusty grape color. The fabric has a nice stretch, and the weight is just right to wear around the house in the winter. Good quality.

Good fit and quality, but thought it would be a brigher green. Instead, it's rather muted and I prefer to wear a happier, more vibrant color on those cold, wet Pacific Northwest winter days.

Comments:
I wish that the entire bag was waterproof, not just the head and foot portions, as down can get heavy and lose insulation properties when wet. It packs easily into the compression sack and is very lightweight. Can't wait to use it in the Himalayas.
