Finsport 6006 Fly Wallet- Rates a Thumbs By DLoger from Boca Grande, Florida on 09/24/2009 Pros: Easy To Use, Functional, Great Capacity, Takes up little space Cons: Small Bags not needed Best Uses: Flies stored flat fresh, Only hold large flies, Salt Water Describe Yourself: Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Looking at the reviews that where poor makes me wonder were these people are fishing. This was not designed to hold your Parachute Adams, Royal Wulffs or you 3D Redfish flies. It is streamer containment system that can hold all the flies you will ever need, much more than most fly boxes and it takes up little space in you gear bag, vest or grab and go bag.Any questions? You can look me up here- www.adventurekayakfishing[@]All of my EP minnows are stored flat, fresh and untangled in their own individual poly bag. I get these from U-Line dirt cheap and 5000 should last a long-long time. I love this fly wallet and it has served me very well, highly recommend if you are a saltwater angler of a Salmon fly flinger that slings many flies that need to be stored flat. I like having 2 sizes of pouches.
By Tippetsnapper from PA on 07/13/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This contains zip-lock style baggies that will likely not hold up to continued use. The foam for drying flies is not the best quality. I bought it on sale for less than 10 bucks so it will be useful for storage and allows a decent amount of "filing" and baggies. I will use it as a travel fly "box" or for specialized fishing outings. Would be much better suited for leaders, tippet, and other rigging b/c of not having to continually open and close sleeves as much. All in all a mediocre product that generally serves its purpose.
good idea, poor execution By stikkmann from direct to you from kalamazoo on 07/13/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This system is nothing more than zip-lock bags in a cordura-type wallet. Unfortunately the bags are larger than the wallet enclosure--and since the wallet design does not zip shut, their corners stick out beyond the edges of the wallet (more so than the photo shows)--which translates into they will catch on everything, and prematurely wear out
By golden fisherwoman from Washington on 07/01/2009 Pros: Easy To Maintain, Easy To Use, Functional Describe Yourself: Casual Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: love them can not understand why they are on close out.
By Rob from Australia, NSW on 06/30/2009 Pros: Durable, Easy To Maintain, Easy To Use Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Good for leaders and tippet but not any good to hold flies it would flatern them
perfect for wading and going light By RyanB from NH on 06/22/2009 Pros: Durable, Easy To Maintain, Functional Best Uses: Fresh Water, Salt Water Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: holds quite a bit in a small package. Works well for what I wanted it for. throw a few dozen flies in it, some tippet material, a spare leader and take off on foot. One draw backs are 1) the ziplock bags in side are really really hard to open. Maybe they will loosen up over time, but man are they sealed well. 2) Poor thought out design on the velcro closure. It has a tag end that goes over the top to close it, but it needs to get about half way down the back to find the other side of the velcro. If you are wearing it on your belt like I am, its nearly impossible to velcro shut. 3) as small and lightweight as it is, it could have easily been smaller. The outside is made of some hard material that doesn't flex, it could have just as easily been made out of balistic nylon or something else soft and flexible.
cheap but not very functional By dd from slc on 06/01/2009 Pros: Easy To Maintain, Easy To Use Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The plastic inside won't work for flies,
but can be used as a dubbing wallet.
