By eastmaple from New England on 04/01/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Dries Quickly Best Uses: Colder Water, Paddling Describe Yourself: Beginner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I like the neck seal. It's just neoprene, more comfortable than a latex gasket. I've taken a couple swims with this and - no leaks.
Get this top if you want to be dry&warm! By Firefly Fanatic from Fairfield CA on 03/24/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Dries Quickly, Durable, It has slots for pads. Best Uses: Colder Water, Paddling Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is one sweet dry top. Very comfortable once you have it on. The optional pads that can be inserted into the elbow, shoulder and upper spine slots make it interesting to put on. Well worth it though. My son and I were paddling on the North fork of the American River and the water was 37 degrees. I was practicing rolling all day and felt neary a chill on my upper body. I had a little water leakage around my hood but under the dry top I was bone dry and warm. The neck gasket felt a little snug for the first hour or so. Didn't have to trim it though (I have a large). My son wears a medium and I had to trim off three rings on his gasket so his headed wouldn't explode. [...] I bought a Kokatat Rogue top a fews weeks ago but returned it after receiving these dry tops. These tops are more rugged and reinforced at the high wear areas as compared to the Rogue. The Rogue is a fine top but this Peak UK top appears to be at step just above the Rogue. A full length neoprene neck cover, slightly thicker (IMO) neck gasket and overall denser fabric throughout. This is a quality piece of gear. Good job Peak UK!
By Jim from Cabin John, MD on 03/01/2008 Cons: Hard To Put On Or Take Off Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I found the neck gasket far too tight. I was unable to stretch it wide enough to make it over my head. Near impossible. Not a good design for me. I do not believe my head is all that big.
By Sam from Reno, NV on 01/02/2008 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Easy To Put On And Take Off Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This top is way better than I expected it to be. I have never heard of Peak UK before, and I am very impressed with it to say the least.
Well made dry top for moderate condition By Screaming John Hunter from Christchurch, New Zealand on 12/21/2007 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Size XL is almost XXL Cons: Hard To Put On Or Take Off Best Uses: Colder Water, Paddling Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I always go for size XL for extra comfort, I am 183 m tall, weigh 88 kg. I found the Peak Dry Top to be very XL, so if you get the opportunity try one on for size first.
By DrJon from Northeast, Tennessee on 12/19/2007 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Easy To Put On And Take Off Cons: tended to bunch a little Best Uses: Colder Water, Paddling, playboating, creeking Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I really like this top. My old NRS top was a medium and had latex gaskets. It was nearly impossible to get on and off comfortably, so, I finally decided to get rid of it for a new top. It also had a latex neck gasket which was uncomfortable after multiple hours or days on the river. When i first used the PEAK top I was very happy at the extra room (I ordered a large - always order one size up from your normal shirt size when getting a drytop - remember, you'll want to layer underneath). The neck gasket was super comfortable. The river was a class IV with air temps of 45 degrees - water temps in the low 40's. The top was super comfortable, dry, and performed well. I had on a fuzzy rubber under it along with a long sleeve thermal underwear top under the fuzzy rubber.By the end of the 3 hour paddle the underarms were bunching a little, but that was probably more attributed to my layers than the drytop.I would recommend this top to a friend, and happily, don't regret buying it. By joneswak from Atlanta, GA on 12/18/2007 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Easy To Put On And Take Off Best Uses: Colder Water, Paddling Describe Yourself: Weekend Warrior Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've only used this drytop a few times since getting it, but it's a very good drytop. The gaskets are robust, the seams are solid, and the fabric is breathable and lightweight. It's not a super heavy material that feels like a duffle bag, but it feels like it should withstand normal paddling abuse. I can't speak for the longevity and durability yet, but I'm happy with the product and have no real complaints.
