The comforte was packed so small when it arrived that I didn't think it had any substance. As soon as it fluffed up - it turned into a great, light weight throw. My kids love them - I just ordered 2 more.

Hardly any down; very disappointed..
By Pat from Pacifica, CA on 10/30/2009
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I just recevied this down throw and I expected it to have more down in it. There's barely a layer of down; it feels like it's just two pieces of material sewn together. Very disappointed...

Attractive Design, Comfortable
Best Uses:
Spring/Fall
Describe Yourself:

Comments:
I bought this throw to use on our bed before it was cold enough to bring out our full-weight down comforter. It really did the trick during the fall when a blanket was not enough, but the down comforter would have been too much. It didn't cover the whole bed, but was big enough to cover both my husband and me if we cuddled. Now that it's colder, I'm using it as a throw when I'm reading in bed. P.S. The dog loves sleeping on it during the day when we're not using it. (See photo.)

Blue Ridge Home Tahoe White Goose Down Comforter - 600 Fill Power, King

Very warm and comfortable
By Warm in the ArcticVerified Reviewer from Denali National Park, Alaska on 10/30/2009
Pros:
Attractive Design, Comfortable
Cons:
Difficult to Clean
Best Uses:
Winter
Describe Yourself:
Budget Shopper
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
With this down comforter, I can turn the thermostat down to 55 degreees at night and sleep very warm and comfortable. With the savings in home heating costs, it will pay for itself this winter alone. I live in interior Alaska where it gets really cold in the winter, down to minus 50 at times, and heating costs are a major concern. The outer fabric is very nice, an extremely tight woven cotton material with a nice finish. The tag on the comforter says "dry clean only", which is not an option where I live. I have not washed it yet, but I am pretty sure I can machine wash it as I have with my many other down jackets and sleeping bags. I have a queen sized bed, but bought the king sized comforter, and it fits perfect, with ample overhang on the sides, preventing cold spots during the night when things tend to shift. For the cost, this is an exceptional deal. As the average person spends between 30% to 40% of their day in bed sleeping, it makes sense to be comfortable, turn down the heat, and reduce carbon emissions.

Blue Ridge Home Fashions Throw Blanket - Down

Where's the down?
By bluesal from Boone, NC on 10/29/2009
Pros:
Attractive Design, Easy To Clean
Cons:
Poor Insulation
Best Uses:
Winter
Describe Yourself:
Midrange Shopper
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
I returned the two throws I bought because they were thin and some sections between the stitching didn't seem to have any down in them. If you want something very light and packable you can't go wrong for the money on this item. If you're looking for thick cozy down comfort look somewhere else.

By JP from Pacific Palisades CA on 10/29/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Cozy, Soft
Cons:
Needs a duvet
Best Uses:
Spring/Fall, Winter, Year-round except summer
Describe Yourself:
Budget Shopper
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
We live in Southern California and but love the feel of down conforter. Consequently the down blanket is light enough and perfect for our cool nights. The cover is extraordinarily plain. Could be a bit more substantial so it can be used without a duvet or a bedspread.
