By Nate the Great from Utah on 09/13/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Used this product for two canyoneering trips in Zions National Park. The trips amounted to about twenty rapels. Upon inspection of the carabener after the trips, I noted excessive wear! Be cautious with this purchase. By BTLS1FN from Rio Vista, CA on 08/05/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Simple Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Best price on a VF lanyard. Too bad it's a closeout - great product, super-safe system.
By JonnieBlaze from WV on 08/04/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This Biner is a workhorse and a good deal here at SierraTradingPost. The auto locker is smooth and easy to use one handed. However, the description says it is pre-drilled for the BLC (Belay loop controller). It IS NOT pre-drilled for the BLC. It is pre-drilled for some stainless steel bar, but not the BLC. I purchased these so I could make and install my own BLC but now that I see they are not drilled for them, they are a bit worthless for my application. Just be aware of this. They are drilled, just not for the BLC. Simond told me its for some sort of stainless steel bar but they didn't tell me what it's purpose was.

By Brent from Christchurch, New Zealand on 07/12/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought this for use mainly on glaciers in New Zealand. Swings pretty easily and goes into the ice without splintering too much away. Nice comfy grip.
The removable leash mounts are high up, which means you get quite a bit of movement without taking the leash off (A good thing), but when you do remove the leash the clip is on the end of a longer piece of tape, which means they are a bit harder to get back into your hand to clip back in (compared to a mid-shaft mounting leash, where the clip falls pretty much into your hand.

Good product and works well if you need one to add to a smaller order to pad it some.
