Great to see Simond are still in the Chamonix area and have not outsourced their manufacturing to China.

By jagster from wyoming on 06/11/2009 Best Uses: Long Climbs, Outdoor, Sprint Climbs Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I didn't get this item for climbing per say. But it would make an excellent lead climbing carabiner. Simple. Light. Well designed. Good for about any use withing its load capacity that you does not require a locking function.

Solid, light, and no balling By ski bike yoga from Boulder, CO on 06/07/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Compact, Lightweight, Tough Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've used these crampons once with AT boots for spring skiing. They are a "beefy" aluminum (better than I expected), light, and did not pick up any snow (unlike another climber's crampons on the route). These are great for climbing hard snow. I gave four stars only because of my limited use of the product.
Nice Carabiner for a nice price By Bill from Cincinnati, Ohio on 06/06/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Simple Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I really like the auto locking feature.
By CFLTbos from Seattle, WA on 06/04/2009 Pros: Compact, Easy to adjust, Tough Best Uses: glacier travel, Mountaineering Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice product for basic to intermediate mountaineering. Not ultra-lite, but not massive and bulky. Easy fit and adjustability. No snow packing up underneath. I would definitely recommend these if you don't want to spend a lot, and don't plan on vertical ice climbing.

Waited 20 yrs for just such a carabiner! By MtnFun from Boise, ID on 05/26/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Thanks to this design of carabiner, the fighting to get the attached pro off your rack at the crux is now over. It seems that on 2 out of 3 difficult climbs, you struggle with getting a piece off your rack and into the rock, before your fingers give way or your large toe cramps up. This additional struggle is all due to the tab/hook part built into the nose of most other regular biners. The tab/hook part is nonexistent on this particular design from Simond. I always believed someone would design a hookless biner, and it's now here - only took 20 years of waiting.
By aracer from atlanta on 05/25/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Climber Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: good jumbo biner at a great price.
