By Jock from Washington on 05/31/2009 Cons: Flat Color, Thin Fabric Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Comfort vs Style: Comfort Driven Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: For the price, I was expecting a dress that was more substantive, nothing heavy, just with more material than was here. The fabric was so thin that it was almost like a tissue t-shirt material. That would've been fine for a t-shirt dress, but for this dressier style (which was very cute), it revealed every underwear line. The color, too, was much more drab than expected.
By Marni from Northern, VA on 05/27/2009 Pros: Flattering, High Quality, Stylish Describe Yourself: Bargain Shopper, Eclectic Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These pants are so much better in person. I had been considering them for a while and finally decided to buy them. I'm so glad I did. The tailoring is impeccable and so is the fit- very flattering.
By windowsbyjen from Denver on 04/16/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Flattering, Nice Color, Nice Fabric, Versatile Best Uses: Casual Wear, Night Out, Special Occasions Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Comfort vs Style: Comfort Driven Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The only complaint I have about this dress is that the price was in the triple figures for a jersey materialed garment - the same stuff that T-shirts are made of. Other than that, it's great. It looks sexy on and it's comfortable. Although pale yellow and gray aren't my usual palette of colors to wear, the cut and style of the dress more that make up for that.
By Oldgrrrl from Somerville, Massachusetts on 04/13/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Stylish Describe Yourself: Classic, High-end shopper, Stylish Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: If you're looking for a versatile, lightweight coat with style, this is a real find. The Indigo color gives the vintage-inspired styling a contemporary kick. The size 6 fits my 5'3" frame perfectly. Based on the photograph, I was concerned that the silhouette would be boxy; however, the coat is perfectly fitted across the back and shoulders, and slightly flares to a knee length. I love Charles Nolan's clothes and feel fortunate to have found this coat at such a good price.
By The UPS man knows me from Sonoma County on 03/26/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Nice Fabric Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Comfort vs Style: Comfort Driven Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The neckline was very low and the gathered waist made it very form fitting. The ruffle at the bottom gave it the final touch for the "demented Carmen Miranda" look.
By Shopper from USA on 03/18/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Flattering, Great Color, Lightweight, Soft, Stylish, Versatile, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Night Out, Special Occasions, Wear To Work Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased this sweater after much deliberation and research. To help you make a decission, please check out the Charles Nolan website. You will find the sweater in the Fall 07 file.
The periwinkle blue sweater is of a classic cut with ball shaped crystal buttons and nice quality wool. What makes it different is that it is MEANT to be oversized...It just about covers my bottom (I am 5'11") and the sleeves extend past my wrists, but once again, they are meant to. I do believe that STP is sizing the sweater incorrectly though. I am a size 14 and purchased the large. It does fit, but it is form fitting rather then loose (loose fit would make it look more modern). However, I have decided to keep this size as I have been loosing some weight recently...I'd say the large is equivalent to a loose fitting US10-12.
I definitely recommend the sweater due to its versatility (you could take it from "aroud the house" to a party, depending on with what else you wear it), but be forewarned: purchase it ONLY if you want an oversized sweater...You will not be dissapointed! Thank you STP for the great find at a great price!
By socal transplant from san clemente, ca on 03/11/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Nice Color, Nice Fabric Best Uses: Night Out, Wear To Work Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Comfort vs Style: Style Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: i loved the cut of this dress in the add, particularly the diagonal gathering across the midsection, which usually does a good job of camouflaging some bulges. i bought it in a large but it was very low cut because it was much too small for my bust. it also was too short for my taste.however, i would still give a high rating to this dress because it had great fabric and design, it just didn't flatter my body type - ample curves.would look great on a slimmer type - and probably younger, since i no longer feel comfortable with above the knee dresses. bottom line, i had to send it back.
A real conversation starter! By smart shopper from Michigan on 03/01/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Stylish Best Uses: Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, High-end shopper, Practical, Stylish, Trendy Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm really glad I took a chance on this coat! The fabric, in indigo,is gorgeous; the coat is very well made. The sleeves "bell" a bit at the cuffs, a bit wider than I would have expected. There is a really pretty set-in belt in the back, sort of above the waistline, of the same fabric, just a nice defining detail for the back. I live in the middle of nowhere and you definitely don't see anything like this around here. When I go "to the city" to shop or visit, this coat starts conversations, people want to talk about it, touch it and generally admire it! It's really cool. My teenage and college age daughters love this stylish coat and want me to wear it with dress jeans, slacks and boots. This has been fun, a little outside the box for me. You definitely have to "own" this thing when you wear it! :)
By anomymous from Portland OR on 02/16/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Flattering, Great Color, Lightweight, Soft, Stylish, Versatile Best Uses: Casual Wear, Night Out, Special Occasions, Wear To Work Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Chest Size: Feels too small Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This coat was too small for me in the chest - I ordered the next largest size and it was too small
as well. So order the next size up. It is THE MOST
BEAUTIFUL COLOR! I am sorry I couldn't keep it. It's lightweight, so you could wear it in the spring as a coat or in the winter as a long sweater. It's extremely versatile - wear it with jeans or dressy things. It is extremely well made, unlined and the fabric is beautiful, not to mention it's a fabulous price for the quality. It's unusual yet classic. Go for it if you're the right body shape - not chubby - it's gorgeous!
By elizabeth from washington, D.C. on 02/13/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Stylish Describe Yourself: High-end shopper, Stylish Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: very well-crafted elegant coat. the back vent length should be noted, as it extends from mid-back to hem...so perhaps not a good choice for the fuller hipped, nor someone looking for a very warm coat.
