percussion ranch doorbell not loud eough By berkshire grandma from Great Barrington, MA on 08/14/2008 Describe Yourself: Bargain Hunter, High-End Shopper, Practical, Stylish Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I've heard Woodstock wind chimes and liked them so I had hopes for this doorbell. However, it didn't make enough sound to be heard when the front door was closed, so it was useless for us. Maybe as a warning before entering an office or other indoor room it might be useful. It wasn't worth sending it back so I'll give it to someone who might use it indoors.

On a whim, I purchased these, and I'm so glad I did! They are heavenly! They're extremely well made, and the sound is beyond description. I purchased another one! Give them a try, you'll be pleasantly surprised as I was.
