By Kids Camp from VT on 07/22/2008 Pros: Easy To Set Up, Waterproof Cons: Poor construction, Poor Fly Design Best Uses: Beach, Car Camping Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: It tore a hole near a seam the 1st night I had it. Alot of pressure is put on the materials by the tent poles.
By Outdoor Camper Guy from Olympia, Washington on 07/07/2008 Pros: Easy to set up, Fly Works Well, Smart Construction, Sturdy, Waterproof Cons: Durability adds weight Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Construction is thoughtful
Materials are rugged-- all materials are heavier than most.
Dimensions are ample (though cramped for six)
Assembly is easy (though the enclosed instructions don't address the rainfly, a little intuition is all that is needed).
Stored size is bulky but can be easily transported in the provided duffle bag.
Plentiful tie-down stakes are provided.
By Retired and Loving IT from Rochester, NY on 07/02/2008 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This daypack was smaller and heavier than I wanted or needed for day-time adventures while traveling. It was too rigid and I didn't care for the logo on it.
By AMB from COLORADO on 07/01/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Large Capacity Cons: Poor Construction, TERRIBLE WATER FLOW Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: THE BACKPACK IS NICE, BUT THE BLADDER AND BITE VALVE ARE USELESS. THE VALVE ITSELF SLIPS RIGHT OFF. AND THE BITE PART, JUST DOES NOT WORK. WE'LL REPLACE IT WITH A DIFFERENT BRAND BLADDER.
I would not buy this product again. By disappointed from long beach on 06/30/2008 Cons: Not well balanced, Straps not padded enough Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I expected this backpack to be small, but useful for a day pack. The straps are much too thin. This is more of a "purse" than a pack. I judged part of the quality of the bag from it's original price of [$]
Great value but didn't work for me By SAT from CA on 06/30/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Highly Adjustable, Large Capacity, Many zip compartments Cons: Leaky Valve, Too tall Best Uses: Extended Hikes, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This pack is nicely padded and fits my bike commuting stuff, but it's just a hair too tall for me - the back of my helmet clunks into it and it slightly constrains my head from turning to check traffic. I am sticking with my REI Bookpacker Plus or the large REI Alpine 35 Plus. I bought the Backflo for the hydration insert baggie, which is the same size as the Camelback classic. But, as another reviewer said, the mouthpiece does drip, even when closed. Replacing it would probably fix this. If I was taller, I would keep this pack. It's got enough going for it!
Okay if you don't mind being a billboard By [@] from Spokane, WA on 06/27/2008 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I got the yellow one, and it's very cute and a nice small size...BUT they have branded the darn thing within an inch of its life. The back of it (on the pack itself) has "Backside Girl" emblazoned on it. I don't know about you, but I can feel some teasing coming over that..
To make matters worse, the right SHOULDER STRAP (seriously) says "Go over it" in large white font. I'm not offended by that (I don't even know the brand well enough to know what they're referencing), but I feel like a big ol' sandwich board with all these giant slogans (some of which may be misinterpreted). I'm sending it back.
Many features, all useful. By Ernest the Eagle from Richmond, KY on 06/25/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Refill, Good Water Flow, Highly Adjustable, Stable Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Looks good, works good, what I expected is what I got.
