Things can get lost in the bottom which is why it needs more inside and outside pockets.

This size is perfect. It holds my camera, my compact binoculars, a rain poncho and a water bottle and snack. There are two pockets for a little cash and my ID. Just what I needed for daytrips in Costa Rica and Italy.

By Mom of 4 from LaGrange, NY on 04/24/2008 Pros: Good padding, Very adjustable Best Uses: Backpacking, Car Camping, Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Nice little back pack for day hikes with the kids. I got them for my 3 girls so they can carry their own water and snack, plus they can carry home any special rocks, sticks, pinecones, etc. that they can't live without. Nice choice of colors so they can each have their own. I wish it didn't say Bacside Girl on it because I would have purchased one for my son as well.

Great pack! Highly recommend! By Alamo Adam from San Antonio on 04/11/2008 Pros: Comfortable, Highly Adjustable, Stable Best Uses: Biking, Commuting, Extended Hikes Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use this pack when I ride my bicycle to work and back home. It rained on me one day and I had a chance to use the the rain cover. It pulled out easily, fit perfect and kept everything dry. I store my clothes (jeans,t-shirt,long sleeve shirt, socks & underwear) as well as my coffee mug and lunch in the main compartment when I commute. There are 2 mesh side pockets, two small zipper pockets, & one medium sized zipper pocket that come in handy as well. The pack is light weight and has great padded shoulder straps and backside. It also has a sturdy frame that makes it a rugged pack. The valve on the hydration bladder is a bite down valve and can easily be replaced with an open/closed valve. The bladder itself is made of a thin material, and has it's own compartment that can be zippered up/down and/or removed. I hope this pack is long lasting, that it yet to be determined, for I've only had it 1 week since writing this.
