By Adam of Atlanta from Atlanta, GA on 06/07/2009 Pros: Easy To Carry, Great value, Strong Material Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This paddle performs great on whitewater. It is super strong and perfect for catching eddies and power strokes which are essential for whitewater paddling. The ergonomic design of the handle and the offset blades make your strokes feel like a natural movement. Overall, I am very pleased with the paddle. I had a Werner Sherpa in mind, but when I came across this paddle, I could not pass it up!
This paddle is great, rigid and light. By fireant from Hurricane, WV on 04/06/2009 Pros: Easy To Carry, Strong Material Describe Yourself: Competitive Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I live around all kinds of big whitewater and feel this paddle will suite all my needs. Sierra Trading Post is number one in my book. You can't beat their prices, [...] and qaulity of products.
By snowbunny from Oregon on 04/02/2009 Pros: Improves Comfort, Improves Kayak Function, Reduces Fatigue, Rugged Best Uses: Hard Kayaks, High Angle Strokes Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I read the reviews before I bought this paddle that said that it was difficult to attach/detach. Well it is, but for the price savings who cares; It is such a sweet paddle. I have a bottle opener on my dry bag that pushes down the release in the middle and just like that the paddle is detacted. AT solved this problem with this year's version of the same paddle, but who wants to pay that much more if a bottle opener will do the trick.

By CC from Cape Charles, VA on 03/18/2009 Pros: High quality, Improves Kayak Function, Reduces Fatigue Best Uses: Day Trips, Touring Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Caveat - I am an ex-rower and relatively new to kayaking. Nonetheless, extremely light and the workmanship seems very high. Very reputable producer. Very comfortable to paddle and the 230cm feels right (16' sea kayak, 6'3" 235# paddler). One slight disappointment: the blade size seems slightly small. High on comfort and quality, perhaps a little lacking in anticipated power (switching from an old Aqua Bound).

Great Paddle for the money By John from Chicago on 02/17/2009 Pros: Bent Shaft, Feels good, Strong Cons: A little heavy, Wish was next size longer Describe Yourself: Competitive Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great for white water, with the extra 20% off price can't be beat
Seems to be a quality paddle By Up the creek from Denver on 02/04/2009 Describe Yourself: Beginner Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Quality looks good. This paddle was not accurately described, although the description has since been improved. I am clueless: don't know what "hard to attach" means. Mine features oversized 15% blade, not mentioned in listing. Offset appears to be variable +45,0,-45, and I could drill another hole wherever I like. Mostly, I can't fathom paying $279 list price for one of these, unless it came with an attractive galley slave. Oh, I don't have a boat yet.
By fiddleski from NH on 01/02/2009 Best Uses: Day Trips, Touring Describe Yourself: Recreational Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: With a paddle that is very difficult to attach, there was no reason to keep it.
