By SJean from Iowa on 11/09/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Chest Size: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My 9-yr old daughter LOVES this coat. She has used the fleece a lot more than the outer jacket. The colors are fabulous (green-blue).
Wish the fleece zipped into the jacket By Active and fit woman from Long Island, NY on 11/09/2009 Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Waterproof, Wind Resistant Best Uses: Casual Wear, Downhill, Hiking Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Cold Weather Living, Winter Sports Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: For the bargain price on Sierra Trading Post, this shell is really nicely made. I took a walk on a 40 degree day with 20mph winds with only a long sleeve t-shirt under the shell and I wasn't cold (and didn't feel 'drafts'). I haven't tested it rain, snow or colder temps yet but I'm hoping it will keep me warm and dry in those conditions as well.
The fleece is attractive, soft and comfortable, but it's a little on the snug side for me and does not zip into the jacket like some component jacket systems (it's attached at the neck and cuffs with snaps), so I'm not sure if I'll be able to wear a warm baselayer under the fleece-- may have to substitute a warmer, roomier fleece on colder days.
By Outdoors Jackie from Waldport, OR on 11/07/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Lightweight, soft--feels good, Versatile, Warm, Well Made Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I get compliments from whoever touches this jacket, it looks nice and is plenty warm. The fleece inside makes it sticky to layer over anything that isn't smooth or slinky. Overall a well-fitting, fun jacket.
By Fisherman's Wife from Star Valley, AZ on 11/05/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Good Cut, Lightweight, Versatile Best Uses: Daily Use, Outdoor Activities, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love the color. The jacket is just the right weight and warmth for chilly fall and spring days. It is so soft and feels so good. However, I usually wear a small/medium -- I ordered a large but had to send it back and get an x-large.
By Fish6027 from Madison, WI on 11/04/2009 Pros: Lightweight, Wind Resistant Cons: Not Enough Pockets or Features Describe Yourself: Advanced Chest Size: Feels true to size Gear Usage: Fall Spring temps Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I've only had this coat a few weeks and got it because of the positive reviews and the cost. It's exactly what I expected, nothing too fancy, but great for the price. The zippers on the pockets seem to be a little light weight and don't moove as smooth as they could - though this is a minor problem for me. Great basic coat. I've been wearing it in temps in the upper 30s, 40s and 50s and it's served me well. I had it on in 35 degree weather with only a single layer under and didn't feel the wind at all.
