By Missy the Wonderful Wife from Mt. Vernon, IL on 10/21/2009 Best Uses: Astronomy, Hiking/Backpacking, Hunting, Low Visibility, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought it for my husband's birthday and from what he tells me about the times he has used it, he is very pleased.
By GearSkeptic from Salt Lake City, UT on 10/14/2009 Pros: Compact, Lightweight Cons: Limited Range, Unstable Best Uses: Archery hunting Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased the Bushnell Yardage Pro, with the intention of using it for rifle big game hunting in the Western U.S. I was sorely disappointed in its performance in both sunny and cloudy conditions, with and without snow, in the Utah mountains.
I was unable to get a reading for objects beyond 325 yards, whether trees or ground, with or without snow cover. 280 yards was the limit of its ability to consistently range. From 280 to 325, I could only sometimes get a reading.
If you plan use it to establish your maximum ethical range at 300 yards or less, or hunt only archery, I suppose this product could be of some use, but past 300 it's useless. I'm returning it.
By curious Frank from Sheffield, VT on 10/03/2009 Pros: Low cost, Rugged, Will take picture Cons: Ineffective at night, Requires Computer SD slot Describe Yourself: Occasional Shooter Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Only successful night photo was standing in front of camera! Will photograph whole area in daylight. Camera placement is therefore critical to successful use. Can not view picture unless you have a computer or Bushnell viewer!!!!
By Dr. Cultchief from Cabin John, MD on 10/01/2009 Pros: Quality Lenses, Strong Construction Best Uses: Astronomy, Low Visibility, Marine, Stationary Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Pair arrived with problems including compass mechanism not visible or not working. Nor was the internal light mechanism working. This binocular design is constant focus over 20 feet or so. This is a beefy and somewhat heavy pair of binoculars. The website may not mention it but these look like something from the army surplus store - thick armor and a drab olive green color.
By Hunter from Colorado on 09/11/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I thought this would be a long range unit but found it is not. It is fine on short to mid shots but once you get out over five hundred yards you need a house with sun on it. I returned this and will wait for a better range finder.
By hunter from colorado on 09/08/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I thought I found a great range finder for the right price but was wrong. This unit will only range to 350 to 400 yards on a Deer or Elk. I got 800 yards on a refelective house. The unit is OK but it is not a 900 yard range finder.
By Billy Kidd from Holden, MA on 09/03/2009 Pros: Accurate, Compact, Quality Lenses Best Uses: Hiking/Backpacking, Hunting Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It is great for verifying yardage on hunts or on a course.
By hunter from Colorado on 08/30/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: When I saw a range finder for up to 999 yards at this price I thought great. Will it's to good to be true. This is a fine mid range unit up to 400 yards. Anything over that and you need large reflective objects. I have only been able to pick up a house over 600 yards (in the sun). I have not been able to get anything over 700 yards.
By DAH HUNTER from Ontario on 08/29/2009 Cons: Are black, Half of the pictures, No range for flash, Would not buy again Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Half of the pictures that are taken are nothing but a black screen. Night pictures are poor as the flash only shows animals that are within 10 feet of the camera. Have cheaper trail camera models that give way better pictures that are much smaller quality, 200 Kilo pixel vs 2.0 Mega Pixel
