To good to be true, but works well By hunter from Colorado on 08/24/2009 Pros: Accurate, Compact, Quality Lenses Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have been looking for a long range range finder and thought I found it. The information says it is good to 999 yards but when I got it that is only to a reflective object the size of a house. When I tried it on a house at 550 yards it would not even pick it up until it was in the sun. The shade side of the house had no reading. The box tells you it is only good for 3oo yards on a deer or elk. While this is fine, and should have been assumed at this price, it was not clear. This is a good mid-range rang finder just don't be fooled by the information provided.
By docgary from New Jersey on 08/17/2009 Cons: A communist dictatorship, Made in China Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I do not beleive in buying anything Chinese if I can avoid it. In this case, you can.
By Golfergirl from Western New York on 08/06/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought it for golf and determining distances. A friend has a different model and it works great. It rarely picks-up the pin because it is not sensitive enough. I have not used it for anything else. Would not recommend it to golfers.
Excellent binoculars (Boating use) By Jimbo from Hudson River on 07/07/2009 Pros: Accurate, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction Best Uses: Low Visibility, Marine use Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The tactical binoculars are bright and easy to focus. Used it on my sailboat (we beat it up pretty good) during the day and night, was surprised how well I could see under low-light conditions. I haven't dropped it in the water yet, so don't know how waterproof it is (and don't know if it'll float) but it has been excellent so far. Only downside is that its somewhat heavy (expected due to its heavy-duty construction).
I would not buy this product again By bill blogs from Mullumbimby NSW, Australia on 06/19/2009 Cons: Doesnt work, No troubleshooting sec, Not insectant proof, Not weather proof, Poor manual Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Cameras have malfunctioned after only a couple of months use, i have replaced the data storage disc and reset them numerous times, the left hand light comes and it gets stuck there, wont switch off, have to take out batteries to reset, but then it does same thing again. the other camera gets stuck on 'image capture', the cameras do not seal up properly, ants get and build nests - not too good for the circuitry, this happened to one camera, I have taped the others up. The manual does not give enough information about operation and trouble-shooting, it should warn about small insects getting into the unit.
I could see better without it By Gzues from Olympics on 06/16/2009 Cons: Poor visibility at night Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I don't know if I got a bad one or what but it did not help me see in the dark/low light. Unless I held the infrared in which case it stands out like two red glowing embers.
By Rachel Roy from Hearst , ont , canada on 05/30/2009 Pros: Accurate, Quality Lenses Cons: Difficult To Focus, Heavy Best Uses: Hiking/Backpacking, Hunting, Low Visibility Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: i suprise , i see very good
By Jimbob from Denver, CO on 05/26/2009 Pros: Compact, Quality Lenses Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased the range finder primarily for golf and found that it would only pick up a flag consistantly from 150 yds or less. I need a range finder with distances for a golf flag of 250 to 300 yards. This range finder is likely good for larger objects but was not refined enough for what I require for golf.
By Canyon Wren from California on 05/25/2009 Pros: Compact, Inexpensive Best Uses: Hiking/Backpacking, Low Visibility, Safari, Travel Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this as a gift for my husband and son for our upcoming trip to Africa. I got to use a military grade night-vis monocular in the Everglades and wanted them to have some of that experience without having to take out a loan to buy one. This fit that bill. I didn't have huge expectations and, shall we say, wasn't disappointed. It functions--or should I say, the second one did (the first was a dud, and I sent it back)--well enough to get the experience. It is not a precise instrument, but I'm sure we'll have fun with it.
