I like that the top and the bottom of the satchel are the same size so that you can actually access all of your items. Many of the handbag satchel styles now have a wide bottom and a tapered top, which are impossible to get into.
Like, also that it's NOT made in China! Uniquely, from Kenya. THe only negative is , I think it's a bit bricey for canvas. There's a wee bit of leather on it, so it should be less expensive.
By Bea the shopper from Birmingham, MI on 11/04/2009 Pros: Easy To Access Items, Easy To Carry, Easy To Identify, Good Capacity, High Quality Describe Yourself: Career, Classic, Practical, Stylish Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Although weather here in Michgan often makes canvas a not-so-good-choice, I love it. This satchel has a true, wide satchel top...none of that narrowing up at the top zipper business that seems to be the style these days. I'll just put in a purse organizer or two and use it until it falls apart...which might be a while because it's very well made, with heavyweight canvas and sturdy (REAL) leather trim & handles.
The green is a very nice, very Brit color..has a Ghurka bag-feel. I'm ordering the beige canvas color now!
By Ted from Southern USA on 09/07/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Load, Good padding, Lightweight Best Uses: Day trip, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love this pack. It is made of heavy duty cotton canvas, and while the storage/compartments are just average (just a main compartment and a small compartment), I will always use this pack for day hikes because it is lightweight, and I am a minimalist. Should last a lifetime because of the quality construction.
By Hihat from NYC on 08/14/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good padding, Highly Adjustable, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is an okay daypack, and at Sierra's price, an acceptable value. But did the manufacturer really think this pack would sell at [$] retail? Based on its size, simple design, and the quality of materials, I would have said a $150 retail price is more like it. Caveat emptor...
By Hihat from NYC on 08/14/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: If you're expecting a daypack that supposedly retailed for the price claimed, you will most likely be disappointed with this small and rather ordinary bag.
