By Western Housewife from Lander, WY on 09/10/2008 Cons: Difficult to Clean, Scratchy fabric, Terrible odor, Uncomfortable Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I just received two of these Scottish "pure wool" throws. The instant I opened the shipping box, a horrible chemical stench poured out-- and that was BEFORE I opened the plastic bags containing the throws. The penetrating chemical odor, which is making my eyes water, immediately filled the room. I have put the throws in my dryer and am running them on the "air" cycle with a fabric softening sheet in the drum with them. But I am shocked that something that is supposed to be "pure wool" smells so bad. If it smelled like lanolin, or sheep, I wouldn't object. This smells like an air pollutant. I had intended to use these in my living room this fall, but unless the smell dissipates quickly, I will be returning them. In addition, I must add that the fabric is very thin, appears fragile with frayed edges all around, and is scratchy.

By cb from CT on 03/07/2008 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Easy To Clean, Good Insulation Describe Yourself: High-End Shopper, Stylish Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I loved the throw; it is very pretty however it has a strong odor that reminds me of oil or petroleum - it might be the dye. I am having it cleaned and hope that will resolve the problem. I've bought several other Calzeat throws and have never experienced this problem until now so I'm recommending it because this may be an exception.
