By biggwater from Sacramento on 07/25/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I own many Castelli products including jerseys. This XXL was two sizes small than my usual XL. You must be very slim (<150lbs) to wear this size
By Smilin' Sue from Harrisburg, PA on 07/21/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels half size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Color pattern attractive, but would have preferred brighter colors for visibility.
A most comfortable jersey By BikerChick from Bloomfield, CT on 07/21/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Good Pockets and Features, Lightweight Best Uses: Casual Wear, Mountain Biking, Road Racing Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I had purchased this identical jersey in a different color at a famous bike shop in Firenze, Italia last summer and it cost four times as much as this. But because it has been my most comfortable sleeveless jersey (the fabric is very soft and breathable), I happily bought another in a different color.
By Cycling "Betty" from Durango, CO on 07/17/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Good Pockets and Features, Lightweight Cons: Armholes too large, Size Med fit like Large Best Uses: Mountain Biking, Road Racing Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels full size too big Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Ordered two Castelli jerseys, both in Lg. One fit perfectly, the other (Firenze) fit like XL. Needed to exchange for size Med. Medium fits great except for large armholes. Very lightweight and comfortable on hot rides. Nice color and pattern.
Excellent Jersey with sweatproof pocket By Livestrong Rider from San Jose, CA on 07/17/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Good Pockets and Features, Lightweight Best Uses: Hot weather, Road Racing Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use this Castelli Jersey for hot rides. I can put bills ot cell phone or iPod in the center plastic lined sip pocket and they don't get sweaty!
When I bought the jersey I liked the stretchy soft fabric and later found the bonus of the fourth pocket. Pockets are very deep too so you can cram in a LOT of stuff. Makes this an excellent Century/Long Ride jersey in warm weather. I wore it in the Lance Armstrong Livestrong CHallenge last weekend and it performed perfectly. The heat got to 107 on one climb and I could feel the cooling action. Always wear a wicking base layer of course.
Only negatives are the fabric stains easily, you need to wash on hand wash cycle and do not use the dryer! Drying flat is best to avoid hanger elongation. I draped it over a railing in the sun and it dried in like 20 minutes, without being elongated.
By westernmass rider from western massachusetts on 07/16/2009 Pros: Doesn't ride up, Extra rear pocket, Lightweight Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I am a woman and often find women's jerseys to fit awkwardly or be so "girly" - pink, flowery - that I usually buy men's jerseys. This one is great - looks good, rides better - no riding up on the back, ever, it's cool and doesn't retain sweat. I have both a small (this product) and a medium by Castelli. The small is small and men should be aware that Castelli is going to be trim, whether it says so in the description or not. If you are looking for a closely fitting top, then this is your jersey, but order a size larger than normal - it will still fit closely but will fit.
swell jersey, fit is awkward By Casey the Bike Enthusiast from Wisconsin on 07/14/2009 Pros: Breathable, Good Pockets and Features, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels full size too small Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this jersey for my girlfriend as a birthday present, she can usually fit in a size medium at 5' 5", sometimes the occasional small. She doesn't have a long torso and jerseys run a little on the longer side with the pockets on the back extending downward more so I opted for a small. I had to return that as soon as I realized how small this small was. I fit snuggly in it at 5' 1". My girlfriend then tried on the medium and it was still too small! They were out of larges and it was impossible to find in a large size online. She hated the idea of parting ways with the design, the lightweightness, and with how breathable it was that she now wears a snug fitting jersey on her bike rides.
By Downhill Lisa from UA, Ohio on 07/09/2009 Pros: Breathable, Dries Quickly, Durable, Functionally good, Good Pockets and Features, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Didn't like the fact that the collar is beige an the rest of the trim is white. That was hard to tell from the photo. The fit is fine actually for me. I almost sent it back because of the aestetics, but am so glad I didn't. I have worn it a lot now and am very happy with it from a functional standpoint. Good pockets. Lightweight on hot days. Fits nicely. Overall it was worth it for the price...not sure I would have paid full price for it though. It isn't really up to snuff with other Castelli's I own, but for the price it is very nice.
Makes hours in the saddle seem easy By Biggwater from Sacramento, CA on 07/08/2009 Pros: Breathable, Comfortable, Dries Quickly, Good Padding, Great Fit Best Uses: Long Rides, Road Biking, Road Racing Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I thought my 4 year old Castelli's were great, but these top of the line shorts are even better.
Falling apart after a handful of uses! By The Constant Cyclist from Washington, D.C. on 06/25/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good Padding, Great Fit Best Uses: Road Biking, Warm Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I'll keep this short: most comfortable shorts I've ever worn but the lack of durability makes them worthless. After a handful of uses the stitching is rapidly coming apart in three places--the chammy, between panels, suspenders!
I take good care of my gear, handwashing and hang-drying all of it, so this lack of quality is inexcusable. I won't be buying Castelli again, even at STP's great prices.
