By ronhn from Seattle, WA on 07/08/2008 Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a very poorly made instrument. When you attempt to focus it the entire image shifts! Needless to say, you can't focus on what you're looking at because the image shifts to a different view! Not that it would matter too much since the scope doesn't focus to any degree of sharpness anyway! I didn't expect incredible optical quality for the price--but I did expect the scope to function as designed so I could look at the stars with my kids.
Has Opened the Heavens with Ease! By Anteres from VA Beach, VA on 07/06/2008 Pros: Accurate, Quality Lenses Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this same scope a few years ago, the only one I've owned. Being a total novice initially, it teaches the night sky with the built in software and slews to the objects as well as stays on the objects (with user vigilence). Easy to learn and makes learning easy. If you've never seen the rings of Saturn, you need this telescope.
broken eyepiece, poor quality By Quickbeam from WI, USA on 07/02/2008 Describe Yourself: Professional Guide Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this for my husband to use as a spotting scope for shooting. The eyepiece was broken on arrival. My husband is an expert marksman and said the eyepiece was so fragile that with normal use it would have broken with first use even if it hadn't arrived that way. Very unhappy, returned item.

By Odessa camper from Odessa, Texas on 12/28/2007 Pros: Accurate, Strong Construction Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: After a few tries it is easy to align this telescope. I have used this telescope a handful of times and have had great success each time I have used it. For a beginer or a someone on a budget this telescope is perfect. Just add a hard case for the scope and you are ready to go anywhere with this compact scope. Big Bend National Park, here I come!
My con is over the focus, it slipped a tad but at this price, it is a minor complaint.
For Bench Rest Shooting, this delivers By Magnum Hunter from Tacoma, WA on 12/22/2007 Pros: Accurate, Comfortable Eyepiece, Outstanding optics, Performs out to 100 yrds, Quality Lenses, Strong Construction Cons: Buy a quality case, Throw away the nylon case Best Uses: Bench rest shooting Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased this product and have been very happy with its performance. Lots of light come through the
oversized objective lens. I would have liked to seen a good quality tripod come with it. The nylon case that comes with it, is only good for carrying your tripod. Buy yourself a quality case to hold your scope when you transport it to the range, or field.
Good performance for the buck $$$.
