The California-based Celestron optics company, with its wide offering of state-of-the-art optical technologies and a worldwide reputation for well-engineered products, designs and manufactures some of the highest-quality optical products out there. Celestron’s product line has expanded to include spotting scopes, binoculars, microscopes, optics cases and, of course, sophisticated telescopes for astronomy - many of them computerized. Celestron telescopes are the choice of major colleges, universities and research organizations; in fact, NASA selected the Celestron C5 telescope to be taken on several Space Shuttle missions. Celestron offers a range of optical products, from relatively simple binoculars and spotting scopes for hunting and wildlife watching to its advanced but popularly priced telescopes, such as the Celestron SkyScout personal planetarium. This computerized telescope identifies over 50,000 stars, planets and constellations from a built-in database and provides scientific information for each object.
