I wanted sturdy, stylish black leather boots, water resistant, lace-up design. I also did not want steel toes so that I can get a better feel for the brake and shifter. It took 2 or 3 days of wearing them to really break them in but considering how thick the leather is, that's no surprise, and not a bad thing. (I know Chippewa is now making boots in China like just about everyone else.) This is the third pair of Chippewa made in USA boots I've owned. The quality is excellent. They're comfortable and durable.

These are sturdy, comfortable, and attractive. Too bad, but I think this elephant leather is no longer available. HOWEVER, Chippewa makes VERY good boots. Love 'em.
