By pax from Maryland on 11/17/2009 Pros: Compact, Easy To Use, Good Weight, Sharp Blade Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Seems well built and good value at [$]. Blade is sharp enough to shave my arm.
By Mark from Bay Area, CA on 10/28/2009 Pros: Good blade material, Nice look, Sharp Blade Cons: Assist open stronger Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: It's true the handle is smooth and it is harder to open than others, (strong not weak in mine) and it may shift a bit in your hand but I didn't find it to be problematic. You get used to it especially if you use it all the time, it doesn't deserve one star. Also it is unlikely to cut considering the sharp edge is in the direction *opposite* to the way it opens.
I would rather have the unpainted one. By Office survivor from Mobile AL on 10/24/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Good Weight, Sharp Blade, Versatile Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A great knife around the office but the appearance is hurt by the black paint which comes off rather too easily.
By a canyoneer from Salt Lake, Utah on 10/14/2009 Pros: Durable, Smooth Locking Mechanism Best Uses: Camping, Survival Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: the blade is very good and the serrations are nice. the one area of complaint is that you have to close it in two steps. this is somewhat tedious and seems unnecessary. other than that its a great knife, good steel. i have small hands and the handle fits my hand well.

It is compact and functional. Has a nice clip and great opening mechanism. For the price you can't go wrong.
By JoshMan from White Mountains, Arizona on 09/29/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Finish, Sharp Blade Best Uses: Camping, Survival Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: As an outdoor enthusiast and owning several benchmade, kershaw, and crkt knives, I am impressed with this fixed blade. The sheath is great quality and easy to use. The steel in the knife is durable and high quality. If there is one knife on the market that will do all...this is it! A must have!
By Tactical Tool Bag from New York, NY on 09/28/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Sharp Blade Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use this knife on a tactical gun belt
a great utility/fishing knife By Backpacker Bill from Fort Collins, CO on 09/28/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Sharp Blade, Smooth Locking Mechanism Best Uses: Camping, Home, Survival Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: A little small for me but is still extremely comfortable and easy to work. I use it for little things around the campsite and fishing. It's size and serrated edges do make it handy for working with fishing line and gutting fish, or cutting other meats.
By Rob from NY on 09/16/2009 Pros: Sharp Blade, Smooth Locking Mechanism Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I received the knife and spend about a week using it exclusively. I can only give it three stars because of a few of its shortcomings.
1. The blade is difficult to close one handed. While I like the safety lock mechanism on the back the slide lock on the front is difficult to move as it is not high enough above the grip. If it was about an eighth of an inch higher it would be easier to move. As for some that would say "then it is not a safety lock and you could slip the blade lock and the blade would close" I would counter that is what the rear lock is for. As it is now you have to move the rear lock forward this will release a catch so that the front lock can be pressed to the left releasing the blade.
2. The assisted opening feature. I would like to see a safety mechanism so that the blade could not be opened accidentally in a pocket. As it is now a slight bit of pressure on the thumb screw and the spring opens the blade. Granted you can always remove the assisted opening spring but then that would just defeat the purpose of buying an assisted opening knife.
Aside from these two points I find that the knife is well made and balanced. The blade has held an edge so far, but then again I have only been using it for a week.
a beafy, man's kind of knife. By Karl from New England on 09/13/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Knife is razor sharp, Opens effortlessly, Opens Smoothly, Sharp Blade Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: if you have the slightest bit of strength in your thumb, this knife snaps open with just a nudge of the thumb stud. hold on, it SNAPS hard! the knife looks much better than is shown in the picture. it has a hefty solid feel with a good balance. CRKT has an excellent product here.
