By happy hiker from Boston MA on 06/22/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Sharp Blade, Smooth Locking Mechanism Best Uses: Camping, Home, Survival Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very solid, sharp, good quality, lock works very well. Tanto blade style is best for rough work, not so good for skinning and carving. A great emergency knife. Very good value at this price!

crkt tactical knife is not so practical By sas from vail, az on 06/05/2009 Pros: Durable, Sharp Blade Cons: Poor sheath craftsmanship Best Uses: Camping, Hunting Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: The knife is durable and well made. The sheath is a little too complex for being a sheath. Knife is difficult to return back in sheath due to plastic lining. Knife handle is not very comfortable when using for any length of time.
By walt from Mississippi on 06/04/2009 Cons: Difficult to open, Outburst not effective Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Knife is difficult to open when new. Requires two hands to start the open, then the outburst has a tendency to catch you by surprise. Got a nice cut in the palm of my hand trying to loosen up the mechanism. Not nearly as easy to open as expected for an "assisted" opener.
CRKT makes quit nice knives! By Knife Nerd from NC from Mooresville, NC on 06/03/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Finish Cons: Difficult to Sharpen, Tanto Point Best Uses: Camping, Survival Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The knife is nice heavy; seems to be very strong. I wanted a fixed blade knife to take camping a few times a year. This one will do the trick. However, my bigest problem with it is that it has a tanto point. In reality there are two edges to keep sharp one is 4" long and the other is 1". I knew this going into it, so no suprise here, but i would still prefer one long edge to maintain.

I use this knife on my backpacking expeditions. I really like the locking safety mechanisim and its great blade. It is just the right size and weight.
