By Oregon Nursery Pro from Sandy, OR on 09/12/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Sharp Blade, Smooth Locking Mechanism Best Uses: Camping, Daily carry, Home Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought the first knife on an impulse, to use as a daily knife. I bought the other five as gifts. I'm very happy with the assisted opening and the locking systems. Very positive, and easy to use with a tiny bit of practice.
One issue, the thumb studs can get caught on your pocket liner when the knife is being put away, causing the knife to open in one's pocket. The spring isn't strong enough to push the blade all the way open, but still, a small issue.
By altapowskier from Alta, UT and Albany, NY on 09/11/2009 Pros: Durable, Sharp Blade, Simple design Best Uses: Daily carry utility knife, Home, Hunting Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I really like my knife. i have very many knives, and this one fills a niche. the craftsmanship is spot on and very durable. the outburst mechanism is very simple and easy to clean and keep in working order. those who say this knife is hard to open are either extremely weak, or dont take good care of their knife. i have a kershaw assisted opener, and it is a bit easier to open, however it has opened in my pocket by accident a few times, and sliced me once real good. the crkt knife never opens by accident. a drop of oil on the tip of the spring once every so often is more than enough to keep this knife in proper working order. however, the weight of this knife is why i did not give it 5 stars. my kershaw is much lighter (plastic handle) but this crkt is bomber with the metal handle. its heavy, so i would never take it backpacking....but for daily carry at work or around the house it fits the bill perfect. i really like the broad drop point blade. i have had and have used the knife almost daily for the past 2 years and dont understand the bad reviews. besides weight, i have nothing bad to say. i am also a lefty, and the assisted opening nub is on both sides of the blade, it helps me out. i had to switch the screw and nub on my kershaw, but it still is not seamless.
looked like a good deal; is a good deal By starving artist from myrtle beach,sc on 09/08/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Finish, Grip lugs will work wet, Nice size for survival ap, Sharp Blade, Sheath offers options Cons: Handle compact, No butt caphammer Best Uses: Camping, Explore hike etc, Survival Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: tanto blade tip seems odd for a dedicated survival blade. handle is smaller and contoured;big hands beware.Sheath offers many options for carry, however very pronounced-not low profile. No butt-cap hammer. Great well rounded survival knife. Very pleased with purchase and quality. Impervious to water and very reliable.
By bigsky from north platte, NE on 09/06/2009 Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Good Weight, Sharp Blade, Versatile Best Uses: Backcountry Camping, Day Trips, River Trips Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is my third K.I.S.S. knife by CRKT. The fit and finish are excellent. The clips make them very convenient to have about anywhere you want them to be handy. The steel carries an edge well and the look is very cool. Great value to price. Keep one in the car, tackle box and pack.
Columbia River Brian Tiny Tighe Combo By High Plains Adventurer from Desert/ Mountains, New Mexico on 08/31/2009 Pros: CKRT Quality Control, Durable Cons: Blade finish, Small handle for big hand Best Uses: Self defense, Survival Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great little knife for every day carry. The black blade finish is strange to me, because it's not like some big name makers good black coatings. The previous Tiny Tighe that I purchased had smaller serrations, which I prefer, but the picture plainly shows these huge serrations and that's what you will receive!Good for cutting rope or cardboard. The action is good and CKRT tolerances are pretty good for this price. Good self defense knife which is small, but carries a wallop.Finger grooves are a little dicey for people with large hands, but you can't have everything in a knife, unless you spend a lot. Overall, a good knife, with good lockup and action, very sharp, and decent looking blade and handle.
By Ocelot_caver from Oregon on 08/31/2009 Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Good Weight, Sharp Blade, Versatile Best Uses: Backcountry Camping, Campgrounds, Day Trips, Road Trips Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm a fan of KISS knives and this is a great addition to my collection.
By W from Earth on 08/28/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Finish, Sharp Blade Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bottom line: this is a tactical knife, and a good one for the price. Yes its very snug inside the sheath, and that is done on purpose so you don't have to worry about it falling out if you ever sling it upside down. Excellent blade, could shave with it out of the box. Love the full tang and the pry tip on the handle. If you don't like the tanto point, keep in mind: they are made for stabbing, not slicing.
Half the price of a Sog seal pup! By John from Jackson, NJ on 08/25/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Finish, Sharp Blade Best Uses: Camping, Home, Hunting, Survival Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought two of these knives on sale. Coould not beat the price and value of the knife. Not afraid to use the knive for anything. I have a Sog seal pup and elite and paid twice as much for those knives.

By Oregon Nursery Pro from Sandy, OR on 08/18/2009 Pros: Comfortable Grip, Durable, Sharp Blade, Smooth Locking Mechanism Cons: Grip a bit too small Best Uses: Camping, Daily carry, Home, Survival Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This knife is pretty good deal for the price. I've never had an assisted open knife and find it very intriguing. Very positive experiences with it so far. The Autolawks feature, while weirdly named, works superbly and isn't hard to learn to close, after a bit of practice. Very satisfied with this purchase. Might even buy a couple more.
