By basecamp Gangtok from Northeastern USA on 06/01/2009 Pros: easy to cast, Easy To Handle, Easy To Store, Good construction, Good For Variety Of Fish, Responsive action Cons: Not so attractive looking Best Uses: Fresh Water, Small river fly fishing, Stream Fishing Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a great rod at a great price. Often, you get what you pay for, but as Cortland discontinued this line, and because STP is offering a great price you get a very good rod at a great price.
There are cheap fly fishing rods and there are decent rods at great price. I consider second as a great value purchase. This rod offers one of the best value in the low cost fishing rods category.
This rod casts great, give you decent accuracy in both short and long distance, easy to handle and transport. Overall its a great rod for any fly fisher. It is a great stand alone rod for a beginner trying to stay within a limited budget, or, it could be a decent back up rod for an advanced fly fisherman.
I bought it as a back up 5 wt rod to Increase the life of my Powell Tiboron 5 wt rood. But, I use the Endurance more often than the Tiboron, partly because the Powell cost more than two hundred dollars and I am always worried about damaging them while transportation or overheating in the car trunk.
Anyway, I have had many successful fishing outings with this rod. I am very happy with its performance.
There are two things that I am not so convinced about. One, the color. its ugly. kind of velvet green. I dont care for it at all. two, the weight is a bit on the heavy side. Not a big problem. I would not have noticed it if I did not use some of the higher end feather weight rods.
over all a great purchase at STP.

Own 4 of them and they have landed a lot of rainbows in the 20-30+" range. Haven't broken one yet and they have held up well to traveling through the bush.
By moosaki from West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland on 01/19/2009 Pros: Accurate Casting, Durable, Easy To Transport, Flexible, Good Tip Action, Sensitive Best Uses: Fly Fishing, Large Fish, Ocean Fishing, River Fishing, Small Fish Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a very nice rod. It has good action. I bought it for fresh water and to cross over to light salt water use. I put a Ross Cimarron Reel on it because it is a fresh/salt water capable product. I like things that can multi-task.
By flyfisher from Delaware Oh. on 11/17/2008 Pros: Durable, Easy Casting Describe Yourself: Avid Fisher Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Great flyline for the price. The line shoots well but it did seem a little noisy going through the guides.
