I bought them because of manuf. reputation and the price, of course. I don't mind the higher top but wonder if they were unlined they might be cooler in the summer. (The cool-max must help with that but I still am wearing my old boots on the HOT days)

He really likes them. He also told me when he was on submarines in the Navy that many of the guys ONLY wore Danner because of the fit and comfort. They are WELL made boots with lots of cushion AND you can't beat these prices. Don't hesitate, order today and you won't be disappointed!!!

The heel-area fit was comfortable immediately-- not stiff and sore-making. The Double-E width (not available in far too many shoes/boots) gives plenty of toe room which I need for comfortable day-long wear.
