By JM from CT on 10/18/2009 Best Uses: Business Casual Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I purchased a pair of the black 1461's 5 years ago and the leather on the old pair is much smoother and nicer. This may be a cost savings for Dr. M's but without lowering price, they may have just lost a long time customer. Yes, I have been wearing Dr. M's shoes for well over 15 years and all of the other pairs I have owned have been made of quality leather.
Nice shoe for the price, TOO BIG By missbethanyblue from Templeton, CA on 10/17/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Stable Best Uses: Business Casual Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels half size too big Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: As compared to the other Doc's I've purchased for my husband to wear to work, these seemed to be a little less durable with thinner than usual leather. Also, they are wayyyyyy too big and will have to be returned. BUT, you cannot beat this price for a classic Doc shoe.

By Poiyatama from Pittsfield, MA on 10/13/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable, PERFECT, Practical, Stable, Stylish, Warm Best Uses: Casual Wear, Office, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic with slight edge, Comfort-oriented, Practical Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Have been looking for these for the better part of a decade. They've been either too expensive or too narrow in the toe box or with too high a heel or all three. These are none of those. These are PERFECT. I wear orthotics that fit inside the boots -- perfectly. I wear Thorlos socks which fit inside the boots -- perfectly. The shoes I wear (to work in a hardware store's office and the rest of the time wandering around The Berkshires) have to be durable, and these fit the bill -- perfectly. I walk miles and miles each day. I bike several times a week, up to 40 or so miles at a stretch. This winter, I plan to take up snow shoeing. I'll be wearing my Doc Martens for all of it. Thanks much for a great product at an unbelieveable price.
