By northwardbound from Milw, WI on 11/02/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Load, Good Padding, Highly Adjustable, Large Capacity, Lightweight Cons: Water tube not concealed Best Uses: Day Hikes, Light Loads, Travel, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Should have been 5 star if tube was concealed in shoulder strap when not in use like our last unit. Otherwise bag is terriffic for dayhikes, biking and other times oversize bag is not need.
Would have used as casual bag also if tube had proper stow. Would not have wanted smaller version.

Useful for a single day or several days. Freeze some water overnight i you can, but don't overload the bladder because water will freeze in the tube; and try to keep the mouthpiece clean!

By Mamaj from Newport, RI on 11/01/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Load, Highly Adjustable, Large Capacity Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got this for my husband for an upcoming trip he was taking. He hates having a bulky backpack that doesn't adjust. Well, this pak adjusts in a number of ways. It has 4 compression straps to minimize the bulk of the pak. They are adjustable with velcro, which I've never seen before. He was pleased with it- I will find out how it held up once he's home from his trip - he will definitely put it through the paces while he's gone.

IF YOU'RE A RUNNER DON'T BUY By MIKE from evansville indiana on 10/29/2009 Cons: Poor Construction, Unstable Best Uses: MAYBE OK FOR WALKING Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This pack might be ok if you're only going to walk. I recently bought the camelback alterra, and I like it very much. I thought this one, since it holds a little more water, might be better for long runs (over 10 miles). It is absolutely the most unstable water system I have ever worn. Way worse than any bottle sytem I have had. Its basically a bag of water haning from a rope. The straps that are used to cinch down the pack will tighten and it will feel secure and then you will run like 20 yards and they will be loose again. I tried tying them and that did not work, I adjusted them every way I could think of and nothing worked. There needs to be some kind of secondary clamping system that keep the straps cinched down after you tighten them. It's hard to believe that anyone who tested this product actually ran in it.
