Fischer Skis

Fischer Skis

Austria-based Fischer Ski has come a long way since their first pair of wooden skis came out of the production shed in 1924. Today, Fischer Skis travel in all the best circles – namely, winner’s circles. Fischer's pioneering spirit has always pushed the limits of technological innovation. Employing a similar technique to that used in high quality musical instruments, Fischer skis are Frequency Tuned to harmonize vibrations and improve turn behavior. Fischer boots orient the components to the anatomical shape of the foot, supporting the natural foot position. All Fischer gear is designed for the performance and comfort of the skier. So if you’re going for gold or just a great day in the powder, go with Fischer.

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
This ski has enough camber to keep the gripping divots from digging into the snow when you are trying to glide. So, despite being a wax-less ski, you get a reasonable amount of glide. They are also flexible and side-cut enough to turn well. They are great for spring conditions when it is very hard to get grip wax to work on synthetic-based skis. They are what these days are called “back-country skis”, which means they have enough floatation for skiing across the countryside.

I love the s bound series from Fischer. I'am an avid skier and enjoy back country and cross country skiing. This ski would be bit of a dog on a groomed trail but has the perfect blend of stability and shape to break trail, crank a few turns and really enjoy even tricky conditions in the back country.

These are wonderful XC boots, unfortunately they did not fit my right ankle (this is NOT the shoe, it is my arthritic ankle!) Because they zip over the laces, I was not able to adjust them for my right foot without leaving the zipper open I would, however, highly recommend these as they are not too tight and are high quality boots.

I haven't skied in the boots yet...but they feel very comfortable. I like the idea of the zippered covering over the laces. They appear to be well insulated. I look forward to giving them a try this winter. Of course skiing in them is the final test...but from what I see...I think I'm going to be very happy with them
