Practical, but "Slightly Imperfect By highland walker from Bolton, MA on 01/22/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Regulates Temperature Well, Wicks Away Moisture Best Uses: Hiking, Mountaineering, Winter sports Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These liners fit smoothly under wool socks. I like that they are made of wool; they add a little more warmth without adding bulk. However, as advertised, they are seconds. One sock had a pulled loop of threads on the outside that I was able to push back to the inside of the sock. The socks have cuffs at the top and the knitting at the joint of the cuff and the sock is uneven. One sock has a hole where the knitting didn't attach the two parts together properly. It can be stitched together and won't effect the usefulness of the socks.
By k the karrier from WY on 01/21/2009 Pros: Ok product for the price Best Uses: Work as liner socks Describe Yourself: Outdoor Professional Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: as liner socks for wicking and warmth
By Silver Rocks from San Diego on 01/20/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Dry Easily, Durable Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Completely cured my sons previously incurable athlete's foot. I paid much more for these elsewhere, and with all the athletes foot cream I no longer have to buy, they long ago paid for themselves. STP is offering an amazing deal, which I quickly snatched up.
I wear them too! I love that they're dressy enough alone for work and the only reason I wash them is the ick factor. I can't get these to smell, even after a week.
They wear like a work horse, too. Great with tight-fitting pointed toe fashion boots to protect feet from blisters.
Great for travel, because they dry overnight, and don't need washed daily.
A bit tighter in the calf, if between sizes.
An absolutely positively phenomenal product. Did I say I like these socks?
By Anita Vacation from Feeding Hills, MA on 01/19/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight, Warm, Wicking Best Uses: Winter base layer Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Perfect for layering underneath anything from dress socks to wool running socks. Thin and lightweight, but very warm; they just kept my feet comfortable through -10 degree temps. Wish they were taller - they're only crew length - but they're as warm as advertised.
By Bill from Southern California on 01/19/2009 Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The fabric was already yellow even before it was washed, and the imperfection on one sock was a "run" over an inch long. I do not expect that the thin fabric will wear very well. Next time, I will buy a synthetic liner sock, even though I have liked merino wool in other socks I have worn.
By kcee from Asheville, NC on 01/19/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Wicks Away Moisture Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought these because I've not been able to find my favorite hiking socks any more. Most socks have too coarse a knit for me. After several hours of hiking, I feel that coarseness on the soles of my feet and it hurts. I was a bit concerned that since these were for both men and women, that the width would be too large. Not so. These seem just fine.
By MplsRed from Minneapolis, MN on 01/13/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Regulates Temperature Well Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: These liner socks are the best thing since sliced bread. Okay, maybe that's a stretch, but I've always had cold feet and usually have to wear two pair of thick socks in the winter, and my feet still never feel very warm. We've had a colder than normal winter in Minnesota (it was a brisk minus 15 degrees this morning!), but my feet were toasty and comfortable with these on. They are very lightweight, and I've been wearing them with a regular pair of socks and my feet are so comfortable. I got my first pair of liner socks last week and I've already ordered another pair.
