We are returning. The band was just a cut piece of felt not finished (sewn) on the edges and the cut was not even straight.

I usually take 7 3/8, and had to drop back to 7 for this hat, and even that is a tad on the large size.

More than that, I get COMPLIMENTS when I wear it. While true to size, it does not mold quickly to a particular persons particular skull shape, but that's something that will happen with more exposure to rain.

This hat can be worn anywhere, not just in the alps. Sizing is perfect. I wear a 58 (7-¼) and this hat fits like a glove in my size.
