By East Coaster from Annapolis, MD on 10/26/2009 Pros: Quality Construction Best Uses: All Mountain, Downhill Describe Yourself: Advanced Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My first pair of Garmonts and they ended up being to tight right at the calf. Foot bed felt fine, but with the upper calf pinching they had to go. Ended up back with Salomon and their latest XC-10's.
Aggressive Treds, Nice Shoe By MattK1 from San Ramon, CA on 10/24/2009 Pros: Comfortable/No Break-In, Great Traction Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Mixed Terrain Describe Yourself: Outdoor Enthusiast Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very nice shoe. Aggressive looking and comfortable. Feels a bit wide, especially in the toe box (which is by design from what I understand). The underfoot cushioning is lacking, almost feels like there's no insole. I added one of those cheap foam insoles and that seemed to solve the problem. Overall, I'd recommend this for light hiking and kicking around.

I also needed a boot that would accommodate wider feet. This boot fits both applications as well as achieved best of class in several reviews.

I have had a lot of positive comments about them & I really like the color, I also bought them in green & gray, but I like the "custard" color best.
They really are green, as pictured. By Nature Girl from Albuquerque, NM on 08/28/2009 Pros: Look same as pictured Cons: Heel lip rides up 'n down, Irregular Fit, Too Stiff Describe Yourself: Comfort Driven Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: STP has great selection of shoes and I'm learning the brands that usually fit me; tried this brand for first time, but without success. Expected a more cushy, walking shoe for upcoming travel. My feet are a wide B, but these were too wide, and somewhat stiff. The heel does have a lip and it slipped around when I walk, so I returned them.
You might like them, though~!They're worth a try.

By Wildernesschick from Upstate, NY on 07/21/2009 Pros: Arch Support, Comfortable/No Break-In, Durable, Great Traction, Shock-Absorbent, Stabilizes Foot Best Uses: All Weather Conditions, Everyday, Grass, Mixed Terrain, Muddy Conditions, Paved Trails, Rocky/Unstable Terrain Describe Yourself: Backpacker, Camper, Hiker Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love these shoes, they were surprisingly comfy and versatile right out of the box. One of their greater qualities is how unique and durable their structure is, especially the soles which proved to be grippy on all surfaces. They have a very roomy toe box and cushy padding in all the right places. If it's aesthetics you are worried about the color in person is a little more subdued than in the picture, it actually looks much more natural and pleasing to the eye.(Especially with a pair of jeans or hiking pants). This shoe was designed for all round performance combined with unmatchable comfort. I myself would recommend them for anything from hiking to casual outdoor activities to walking your dog. Hands down great shoe, will not disappoint!
