Great traditional, casual coat! By Nancy the Eccentric from Alabama on 10/20/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Durable Best Uses: Casual Wear, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic, High-end shopper Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: If you love traditional well made clothing reminiscent of the 40's and 50's you will love this coat. It is incredibly well made and very cozy. It is probably too warm for this part of the country but I could not resist it.
By arbor from montana on 10/20/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Good Cut, Warm Best Uses: Daily Use, Going Out, Travel Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: just got this coat and I already love it. It has a really good traditional feeling and is perfect for autumn weather. In really cold weather another layer would probably be needed. Not sure how durable it is, but it seems like solid material. I also really like the inside pattern of the coat. Worth the price in my opinion.
By Orphynanni from Brooklyn, NY on 10/19/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Stylish, Versatile Best Uses: Casual Wear, Office, Travel Describe Yourself: Comfort-oriented, Practical, Stylish Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought this coat after scouring the internet for a blue Gloverall duffle and not finding anything affordable. I'm generally a size 2-4 in outerwear and the smallest available on this site at the time of purchase was a 32 (US size 8). Despite the fact that most other reviewers said the sizes run big, I went for it anyways. As expected, the coat was undeniably big on me, but not as big as I thought it would be. Mostly big in the chest and shoulders area, but around my hips it fit nicely (not too tight, not too loose). To be honest, it kind of fits like a mans coat. I ended up taking it in to my tailor who took in the chest and the sleeves to make them a little more fitted (charged me [$] - and he was very impressed with the workmanship on the coat). Now the coat fits perfectly - still loose enough to be a relaxed comfortable fit and offer mobility but fitted enough to look fashionable. This coat is warm too, much warmer than other wool coats I have had, particularly with the wool liner. The sleeves are a good length (hang almost to my knuckles), but thats probably because I got the bigger size. I think on an actual size 8 person, they might run a little short. I'm 5/4 and the coat comes down to my knees, which is nice. Its like being wrapped in a soft, snuggly wool blanket. Also, I got the navy blue, and the inside is lined with a cream and brown plaid print, which was unexpected, but really pretty. All in all, I'm very pleased with my purchase.
Best Toggle coat out there! By mother of 5 from Wilton, CT on 10/14/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Classic, Comfortable, Durable, Roomy for layering, Stylish, Versatile Describe Yourself: Buy quality, Classic, Comfort-oriented, Practical, Stylish Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I have a 6+ year old Dark Green Gloverall Toggle Coat from S.T. that I have worn to death and adore. I just got a new one in a camel color which is great looking. I love that they are roomy enough to comfortably accommodate a sweater underneath and they couldn't be warmer. You can dress them up or down and their classic good looks never go out of style! A GREAT BUY!!!
By Merryelle from Alaska on 10/14/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Warm, Wind blocking Best Uses: Casual Wear, Office, Work Meetings Describe Yourself: Classic, Comfort-oriented, Practical Chest Size: Feels true to size Length: Feels true to length Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This well-made coat will last me many years. It's made of melton-type wool that is double-faced (that's two layers of wool that are "sewn" together at the mill, making a double-thick layer of fabric, with a solid color for the outer side and a nice plaid on the inside--hence no need for a lining). As a seamstress, I am very picky about how my garments are made, and I see nothing but top quality construction in this coat. Very rare to find, especially at this low price. After reading the reviews, I chose a size smaller than I would usually wear, and the coat I received fits perfectly, with just the right amount of room for the big wool sweaters I inhabit all winter long. My home is in a windy location, and my other wool coats have not protected adequately against that kind of biting cold, but this coat does the job perfectly. I can hardly wait for arctic winds to blow! The sleeve length is just a bit long (I am a petite, and sleeves are always too long for me), which tells me the sizing is true. Also the length is a bit long for my 5'2" frame, but since warmth is the most important factor for me, I am not concerned. For someone 5'5" and up, this coat would be that perfect "fashionable" length. The only thing I do not like about this coat is the cheap plastic toggles. Yuk. If I could figure out a way to replace them, I would do so, but I can't, so I will just ignore them and go on. Overall, this is a magnificent coat. Not terribly stylish, but a classic nonetheless. Well made, durable, warm, well-sized. A fantastic value: I wish I needed two of them!

By Pete from South Windsor CT on 10/14/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Durable Best Uses: Outdoor Activities Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sleeve Length: Feels too long Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I ordered this in size 46 color camel and that coat was too large. I ordered replacement in size 44 color loden since camel not available. The 2nd coat was too small. Either sizing from this vendor is in error or since the two coats were of a different fiber content that had a different texture and feel, the second coat may have been a poor replacement for the first coat which was of obviously better quality.
By Wawadelco from Mainline Philadelphia PA on 10/14/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Durable, Good Cut, Timeless Classic, Warm Best Uses: Bad Weather, Going Out Describe Yourself: Trendy/Stylish Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: My second purchase of this coat at a great price. I purchased one several years ago and always get compliments on it. This coat cannot be found in stores and definitely stands out. My dry cleaner even complimented me on the coat as he nevers sees coats of this caliber and material. A coat that will stand the test of time and will last for years.
By David in MN from Minnesota on 10/12/2009 Pros: Attractive Design, Comfortable, Warm Describe Yourself: Classic Dresser Sizing: Feels true to size Sleeve Length: Feels true to length Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I really love this coat. Do go up one size, as per the recommendation given on the site. Reason is that it gives you more room in the shoulders. Also, it allows air to circulate and keeps you from getting too warm if you go indoors, such as into a store.
