Gordini

Gordini

When you think of winter gloves, think of Gordini. Gordini was started in 1956 by winter sport enthusiasts to provide waterproof ski gloves, goggles and other snowsport accessories to those who live for new snow. Whether you’re a diehard skier, snowboarder or snowshoer, Gordini’s winter gloves range from simple and straightforward to highly technical Gore-Tex® waterproof gloves, while Gordini winter hats, ski masks and base layers are designed to protect from the wind and insulate from the cold. Gordini is also on the forefront of innovation - they recently created Lobz® high-tech fleece ear warmers - some of which even offer built-in audio. When you buy any Gordini winter accessory, you can always be sure of its quality and functionality.

Lightweight, soft, comfortable, good fit. Will work well under any pants. Could be used alone as pjs or workout wear. Tapered leg. I'll be wearing it under snowgear or jeans for cool and cold weather outdoor activities. May use for yoga and other at-home workouts as well.

Dimensions are not true to size chart. Sleeves become too short when arms are bent. Sleeves are too roomy while the body is too tight.

Gordini Lavawool® Base Layer Bottoms - Midweight (For Women)

comfy but not very warm
By M from San Francisco, CA on 06/14/2009
Pros:
Comfortable, Lightweight, Soft
Cons:
Too Thin
Best Uses:
Everyday Wear, Lounging, Travel
Describe Yourself:
Frequent Exerciser
Fit:
Feels true to size
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Very comfy, but not very practical as a thermal base layer. The fabric is very soft and thin, which makes it comfy, but not all that warm. The fit is styled more like lounging pants than thermal underwear. The calfs are tight and fitted, which would work well under boots without bunching up. The thighs however, are very loose and baggy which don't seem to be suited for keeping warmth and heat close against your body. Although I will not use these as a baselayer as planned when I orderd them, I have already started wearing them around the house and am very happy with them for that usage. They are thin, compact and take up no space in luggage so I plan to stick them in my suitcase for travel too.

Comments:
OK, I haven't had a chance to try this in the cold yet. It fits and feels great, so soft! My best winter socks are wool so if this top holds up to my expectations, it will be a winner. If it disapoints later, or after it is washed a few times, I will review it again.
