By Alpinegulch from Ct on 08/29/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Load, Good Padding, Lightweight Best Uses: Day Hikes, Extended Hikes, Light Loads Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This is a very nice pack. Light, with heavier material applied to stress/wear points. I returned this because I thought the front zipper opened in a flap manner, completely exposing the main compartment. The zipper affords access to the main compartment, but only on one side. I was tempted to keep the pack anyway.
Extremely inconvenient to pack. By Alexc from WA on 08/28/2009 Cons: Inconvenient to pack, Not enough straps Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I will not recommend it.
I wish that the peoples who design it will need to use it in real life for minimum a week…
Good – light weight and convenient on your back. But that is all.
Extremely inconvenient to pack.
If you need to fill it for less then 50% of capacity – forget about. You will not be able to tight your gear in it.
If you need to fill it to maximum capacity – also forget about. Because of construction it is very difficult to make a dense packing of your gear.
If you need to put small thing easy to loose – be very careful. Because of construction it is very easy for backpack to be opened from the bottom – and you can loose your belongings. You can loose them also from the closed backpack if the thing is small like a knife or spoon.
I was able to use it only with two additional internal compression bags. So I please all me equipment in these bags, and after that place them in a backpack.

By Medford Bob from Medford, NJ on 07/23/2009 Cons: Compression straps short Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: This is an adequate compression bag. It does not, however, have straps that are long enough. I prefer to "overfill" my compression bags knowing that when I tighten the straps the contents will be squished into it. The straps on this one do not allow for anything extending out (can't get the top over). The ALPS compression bags are a much better choice as they are just as light or lighter and the straps have lots of extra length.

By bendecida from Cincinnati, OH on 07/16/2009 Pros: Compact, Lightweight Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I'm very happy with this purchase. It easily fits my sleeping bag and prolite sleeping pad and compacts it down into the very small lower compartment of my pack with room to spare. I'm sure I could add some clothing as well. Not tested yet, but seems fairly waterproof... definitely water resistant. Very lightweight and made well, I expect it to get a lot of use and last a long time.
