It looks great alone during warmer days and layers easily under my long coat. I ordered my normal size and this fit true to size. It has a more fitted fit as opposed to a relaxed fit which I prefer. I do not feel too bulked up when I layer this coat. I also like this jacket because it can be work out to dinner with my husband and feel appropriate and I can also throw it in the backseat of my car and it won't wrinkle. Much more sophisticated than a zip up fleece jacket, but just as warm.

It has a nice fleece-lined collar. I wear it at work with a collared shirt, so that wasn't a big necessity for me but it can be a little itchy where it touches your skin. It's better than some wool sweaters though. The XL was perfect for slipping over a L (16, 41 chest) shirt but if you like it tight, you might want to go with the L. It is very stretchy too.

Nice fabric, a heavier flannel than I had expected, and a bit stiff (but I would expect it to soften up with washing).
