By phdrunner from salt lake city, ut on 09/24/2009 Pros: Easy To Access Items, Easy To Carry, Easy To Identify, Good Capacity, High Quality Cons: Diagonal zipper is odd Describe Yourself: Classic, Comfort-Oriented, Practical Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: big enough to fit basics and not so big i have tons of wasted room--the space provided is perfect for me and easy to utilize well. if you want room for snacks or papers, you need another bag. the diagonal top zipper is sort of strange (goes from diagonal corners, not down middle) but doesn't hurt anything. good practical everyday bag.

shoulder straps too closely placed By mjw from vt on 08/04/2009 Pros: Good padding, Lightweight Cons: Shoulder straps too close Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: Sent it back. Unable to correct the shoulder strap placement, will rub sides of neck raw. Pity, but appears to be built for a pencil-neck rather than a normal human.

Gregory Iris Backpack Rocks! By Hiker Girl from Prescott AZ on 06/28/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good padding, Highly Adjustable, Lightweight Best Uses: Backpacking, Hiking Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got this pack to hike into Havasupai this fall. I have been 'training' with the pack partially loaded on our daily hikes in the national forest. I'm very impressed with the ease of getting it on/off and with the way my camel pack fits into it. The side pouches are easily accessible for extra water bottles. I am looking forward to putting it to the true test this fall!
Gregory Baltoro Backpack - Internal Fram By Eric T from Chico, CA on 06/01/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Load, Good Padding, Highly Adjustable, Large Capacity Best Uses: Extended Hikes, Heavy Loads, Light Loads Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Very comfortable technical backpack. Love all the pockets and easy access. I checked out the newer version, but could not stand the colors. The older model is a bit heavier, but better quality fabric and finish overall.
By Gumper from Cottonwood Heights, UT on 05/20/2009 Pros: Easy To Load, Good Padding, Highly Adjustable, Large Capacity Best Uses: Day Hikes, Extended Hikes, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: This pack for the price is fantastic. However, I had to return mine (under duress!) because the XS was a bit too small in torso length but perfect in waist belt. I'm 5'4" and measured 16" in the torso ~ about 1/2 to 1" too short. I actually took it to a store to have help in the fit. My suggestion is to go to a store that sells packs & have them measure you. This pack is for more serious outings (overnight, etc.), but for the price it is great for an all-day hike anywhere.
This Pack Rocks Expandability is the Key By Steelhead Dave from NORCAL on 05/14/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Load, Fits A 17" Toshiba Lappy, Good Padding, Highly Adjustable, Large Capacity, Lightweight, Silicon nylon LIGHT, Top pocket for small stuf Best Uses: Day Hikes, Expands and cinches well, Great for Books, Heavy Loads, Light Loads, Travel, Wet Weather Describe Yourself: Avid Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: what's nice is the way the top compartment flips to expose the drawstring closure for the top of the main compartment. The pack has 2 zip across access points 1 just below the closed top compartment and another below the cinch netting that holds 2 water bottles easily. The side cinch straps strap the internal load very well so no shifting of your gear inside happens it has mesh pockets on each side for more gear and several loops for hanging gear from even the waist belt has a zippered mesh pocket sewn into it a great technical pack in every detail the silicone impregnated nylon is ripstop and lighter than regular or heavier nylon mesh type pack fabric the top of the shoulder straps even have loops and cinches for small items I use it for toting my fishing gear down to streams to riding BART to the City and hanging out playing with my laptop the only pack of this size I ever owned even close in quality was a Trager and if you know backpacking George Trager made the first wood framed backpacks in the USA
By 2Thehorizon from Harrisonburg, VA on 04/27/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Load, Good Padding, Highly Adjustable Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I love this pack! It is obviously the result of a great deal of research and development. My only complaint is not with the pack itself, but with the maker of the pack for not including a rain-cover with purchase. But just the same, this pack gives that same feeling of joy that a favorite pair of jeans might yield. If you've selected the right size, it feels like it's custom made just for you.
By elsabae from Maine on 04/18/2009 Pros: Comfortable, Good Padding, Highly Adjustable, Lightweight Best Uses: Day Hikes, Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use this pack for day hiking and traveling and love it. It fits a small frame perfectly and is sooo comfortable. (I'm 4'11" and short waisted and have the XS.) Distributes the load so it is painless. The toploading does mean that I am always digging around for something, but all the exterior packets are great. Means I don't have to go into the main pack for little stuff.
And yes, it does have an outside port for your waterbottle hose - it might just take you awhile to find it! I finally marked mine with a dot of nail polish because it is so well hidden!
