By doug2096 from Hartland, WI on 06/29/2009 Pros: Easy To Load, Highly Adjustable, Large capacity Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I find that the best use for this item is air travel. However, because you can remove a daypack from it... it is rather versitile.

By The Fisherman from Western North Carolina on 06/26/2009 Pros: Easy to Transport, Lightweight Best Uses: Airline Travel, Extended Travel, Short Travel, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: The sum of its dimensions (30x15x14=59") falls short of the airlines max allowance of 62". It would be nice to max out the airline baggage allowance. The next size up (36") exceeds the airlines allowance of 62" by four inches. This is enough to incur the $175 oversize baggage fee (Delta).
The bag itself however appears well made and uses good quality hardware. Time will tell how it holds up to airline baggage handlers.
By flying lizard from buffalo ny on 06/26/2009 Pros: Backpack option, Large capacity, Lightweight Cons: No interior compartments Describe Yourself: Casual Adventurer What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: Bought for a trip to Asia that I have not taken yet so have not put the bag through the paces. I bought it for the detachable backpack so I could leave the bigger bag at the hotel and use the smaller one around town. I also wanted a roll bag for airports but a backpack option for running after cabs or maneuvering down streets. Looks like it will work for all of this - only drawn back is there are no pockets or compartments on the inside of the main suitcase area - I wish there was.

By brownoarsman from boston, ma on 06/11/2009 Pros: Easy to Transport, Lightweight Best Uses: Airline Travel, Gym, Weekend Trips Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Minimalist Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I got this bag to replace my old gym bag which had tears all over, and so far this bag seems much more durable. My one complaint is that the internal shoe bag doesn't seem made out of a very durable material and the seam appears weak, however, all the other components of the bag appear very tough. I've been very cautious with not jamming things into the shoe pocket which hopefully will make it last longer. Also, the shoe bag is not waterproof, if you put something wet in there you will have damp within the bag.
Earlier purchase lasted a long time By hw3 from lexington ky on 06/10/2009 Best Uses: Airline Travel, Extended Travel Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational What Is Your Gear Style: Comfort Driven Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I bought another one to replace the one I bought years ago and used it a lot. In an air terminal baggage grab[*] I jerked it off with just one handle, and the fabric ripped. Not the fault of the bag, but I would make sure it is not taken off a carousel by only one handle. Huge capacity; on Church Mission trips I even get a folded full size cot in there; ditto for fishing trips, but not sure now abt size for air travel.
