The length is perfect, they are matte, not shiny. I wore them on an 85 mile ride with plenty of climbing and they were as comfortable as can be. I recommend these shorts. I typically wear a size 2, 5'7" and I got a small. If you like them mega form-fitting, order a size down. The small fit me without too much constriction.
