By Skier Biker from Salt Lake City on 06/28/2009 Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: I have a pair of Sidi mtb shoes that I love. STP had these in my size but they just won't work for me. Budget-conscious, yes, but the two closures are not enough to hold you in place comfortably.
By Biker Hiker from Lakewood, Colorado on 06/24/2009 Cons: Hard to clip without slip, Hard to Walk In Best Uses: Long-distance riding, Racing, Sprinting Describe Yourself: Avid Cyclist Sizing: Feels true to size Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend Comments: My size 47 Specialized translated well into this shoe at size 47 although a slight bit narrower. I like using mountain bike shoes for commuting better than these as they are more functional, easier to walk in, etc. I also have had a problem with clipping in with the bottom of these shoes slipping right off the pedal as they are slick on the bottom, whereas my mountain bike shoes have ridges to keep this from happening. Therefore, this shoe is better when you are not in traffic having to unclip from your pedal while the angry guy in his pickup wonders why you slipped off your pedal. I recommend for more of a long ride where you are not in traffic. I have also had the problem of trying to clip in on a steep hill. Granted I only ride 3000 miles a year so a true expert might be better with the clipless pedals than me! I also would rather have purchased the version with the ratchet buckle. I really think the slippery soles make this a no purchase unless you are planning to use only for racing.
By Mofli from Des Moines, IA on 06/23/2009 Pros: Durable Sole, Simple to Use Best Uses: Everyday riding, Long-distance riding Describe Yourself: Casual/ Recreational Sizing: Feels true to size Width: Feels true to width Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend Comments: I use these for everyday cycling, I'm just getting into the sport and these are just right for me.
