| It all started in 1918 when Nathan Schwarz began his boot-making career as an apprentice stitcher in Boston, Massachusetts. After mastering the trade, he ventured out and bought the Abington Shoe Company and together with his sons, began manufacturing shoes for major retailers. Everything changed in 1973 when the Schwarz family introduced injection molding technology to the industry and produced one of the first truly waterproof boots, named the Timberland. The boot was so popular that the company reinvented itself as The Timberland Company. A wide range of casual and performance shoes, boots, and sandals - as well as luggage and apparel - came next and solidified Timberland’s place at the top of the market. Timberland has also always believed in giving back to the community and environment, making them one of the most socially responsible companies around. Timberland will no doubt continue serving the marketplace and the world in which it thrives, by offering innovative products and proactive solutions. |

Great comfort and warmth in my Vasque hiking boots. I use an arch support beacuse the inserts are made primarily for warmth and wicking. Keep extra pair available as one does not want too much moisture inside a winter boot. I ordered the size 15 for my son – the geologist.
