Good value, but some of 2nds are 3rds

I ordered six pair of these shoe trees. My chief complaint about them is the fact that the spring mechanism (which is essential in a shoe tree--it is what makes the shoe tree fill out your shoe with constant, even pressure, which is what enables the shoe tree to keep the shoe's shape) in each shoe tree is a little funky--it does not slide easily. I actually had to return one pair because one spring mechanism did not slide at all. That said, STP holds these out as 2nds, so the quality should not be expected to be top notch. Depending on where you purchase new shoe trees, you should expect to pay 2 to 3 times this price for nice ones. For me these are a good value and worth the downsides.

These shoe trees are an excellent value, working well with most of my shoes. True, they are not as adjustable as more expensive shoe trees nor are they likely to last as long. Even so, I expect to be using them for quite some time.
