Zipp 300 Carbon Road Crankset

Nice, not perfect.
By humboldt's roads from Arcata, CA on 01/11/2009
Pros:
Durable, Lightweight, Sexy, Stiff
Cons:
Spendy, Tough to Install
Best Uses:
Road Bikes
Describe Yourself:
Competitive Cyclist
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments:
Do I like my 300's? Well yeah, but you should have a nice product for the outrageous MSRP. I don't love them, however. Myself or my bike techs could not get these cranks to work with any ISIS bb other than the one Zipp sells. My cranks were purchased independently from the bb, and it was extremely difficult for me to track one down at the time. Shifting is clunkier than with my Ultegra level shimanos. They are however, as they claim, the lightest and stiffest cranks on the market. I abuse my bike on rough roads, in muddy conditions, on gravel, in my car, wherever, and these [*]'s are tough.

Too much hype without any hope
By maccabeeVerified Reviewer from main street USA on 12/02/2008
Pros:
Good appearance, Good cosmetics, Lightweight
Cons:
Tough to Install
Best Uses:
Road Bikes
Describe Yourself:
Competitive Cyclist
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
with 130 bolt spacing and isis bottom bracket compatability this should be a versatile crank but the chainrings wobble and the Ti crankbolts though very light makes installation more difficult replace the chainrings for better ones and use chromoly crank bolts to ease installation The alloy chainring bolts are light and sweet because both the bolt and the nut use a hex wrench making ring changes a snap

43.5mm chainline could be a problem
By Hammer from Pompano Beach Florida on 12/01/2008
Pros:
Easy to Use, Lightweight, Versatile
Best Uses:
Competition, Road Bikes
Describe Yourself:
Competitive Cyclist
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Comments:
quality finish and nice appearance, light weight, good price, chainrings wobbled, seemed difficult to get driveside on far enough to achieve 43.5 chainline using Ti bolts provided would reccomend installing first with chromoly bolts and then replacing the chromoly with the Ti bolts after proper chainline is achieved Pedal threads seemed slightly oversized
